This is my second attempt at a trip report. My first got zapped a few days ago when I entered it and the DIS was having problems and I lost it and I was not about to re-enter it then.
We really enjoyed our stay all five nights. We were in 4610. Last time we were in 4616. Both non-smoking studios. Just a few highlights about our trip.
We ate each morning at Olivia's and Little John waited on us most mornings. He is great. We spent 3 days in the parks saving our 7 day non-expire for Nov. and beyond. I was not aware that all people now needed to use the finger scan. We had real problems at EPCOT one morning, it was not working right for almost anyone and one day at MK they actually had the machines turned around and just hand stamped you as you left. All three days my wife and I had the darn thing work just once on us. The rest of the times they just had us pass on thru after scanning our tickets. The park were not very crowded but since we are going back in Nov. we just took our time and did not let anything bother us too much. One day we went to Universal. We used the directions the host at HH at OKW gave us and they had us get off at exit 72 which is way to early. I ask the host at Universal and he laughed at the directions and said Disney probably printed them wrong on purpose. Anyway, we spent a fun day there. Boy is it a long walk to the parks from the parking garages..
We ate at Bomas one night. My wife liked it and I was not too impressed. I did try almost all items but I guess I am just a meat and potatoes kind of a guy. We also did HOOP-DEE-DOO for the forth time and for the third time in a row we were at table 13(front row center). We usually go this time of year and it our anniversary and they just seat us there and make a big deal of it. My wife told me to not tell them its our anniversary from now on. The rest of the time we just walked around DTD and spend time relaxing at the quiet pool at South Point. Knowing we are going back in just 6 months make it easy to relax. We are trying to plan a trip next May with our kids and grandkids but you know how hard that is. Well that about it. I did leave a bunch out and will try and post some of our pictures on Webshots later...smjj

Thanks for the report smjj !
The problems you witnessed with the finger scans is concerning. You witnessed this during a time when the crowds were low. I'm going in August and can't imagine all those hold-ups with the summer crowds !!! :sad2: Not going to be fun.
Too funny about the Uni directions---it does sound a bit like Disney is trying to sabotage guests' attempts at visiting the competition ;)
Glad u had a nice time :cool1:

Hi,

Glad you had a good time!

Ms. Sparrow aka Allison

Glad you had a good trip! What was the view from your studio like?

Every once in awhile the biometric readers do a hiccup! We have had that happen several times over the years we have had APs.

We've experienced this as well in the past Diane. But my concern is now they're doing the biometric readings for holders of ALL passes. So I'm thinking the number of glitzches could really be multiplying and holding up lines. With it just being the AP holders in the past, I think it was more tolerable, but now this is a guest-wide thing and they need to iron out the kinks or this will be a more noticeable problem I feel. If, say, 10 or 20% of AP holders had finger scan problems in the past, imagine what biometric scan troubles for 10-20% of all AP and MYW pass holders combined could cause at the gate (particularily during busy times). :scared1:
