This should be titled, "I'm married to the tall, skinny, Guinea with the ravioli eyes who LOVES food and never gains weight!"
Let me preface this by saying, my husband loves to eat! It is his favorite pastime, bar none. I used to love to cook, so we were a match made in heaven. Until I no longer liked to cook! Now we eat out an awful lot!
Soooo, onto Disney food on our trip.
First was BOG dinner at 4pm on a MVMCP night. (I know the prevailing advice, don't use party time at a TS meal, but it was the ONLY night we could get in!)
We waited a looong time to be seated. In fact we waited a looong time to even check in for our ADRs. This probably added 35 minutes to our TS meal. Not a great beginning.
But, our food and experience were excellent!
We decided to get 2 different apps, entrees, and desserts so we could nosh a bit on each... We got the charcuterie board (for 2) and the onion soup. Both were delish. The onion soup was just lovely; a rich, caramel onion broth topped with 2 cheeses. We both enjoyed the charcuterie board, but couldn't finish it all. (Saving room and such, dontcha know?)
Entrees were the steak and substituted fingerling potatoes for the french fries (called something else on the menu, but ff all the same). Great choice! The potatoes were a huge hit, tasting like little bursts of perfectly seasoned baked potato yumminess, and our steak was cooked exactly to order. (Not as good as Mama Melrose's though, more on that later!)
The seafood was very good, but we live on the shore, so are used to the absolute best in seafood. We decided to forgo ordering seafood again in Orlando, just not as good as what we have at home and actually more expensive...
Desserts were soso. I was so excited to try the "grey stuff", but was disappointed. The cookie " boat" it rested in was hard and flavorless, the brownie portion flat. The grey stuff itself was good, an Oreo mousse. They would do better to serve it in a pretty martini glass alone as just a mousse. DH had the chocolate cupcake with a ganache type frosting that he loved.
The setting was absolutely devinel! We felt like we were visitors to a royal event, and honestly loved it when they heralded The Beast! Much ado and fanfare, it was veddy veddy Royal and Downton Abbey, except, of course, French!
So, all in all a lovely experience!
I feel like it might be a "one and done" though...
