we also just got back like another poster said crowds and heat were manageable
We took part in a cool thing we booked a session to hear about the DVC and while we were doing that the kids played in a supervised play area they we were treated to ice cream and they gave each us a 15.00 gift card for just talking to them (it was nice) there was no pressure at all to buy and when things look better my husband says it would be something he would be interested in (yeah)
The only thing that bugged me was we were waiting in line at Test Track and groups were using the single rider line and the younger cast members were putting them all into one car..... until the older cast members or the manger came onto the ride and it put a stop to that :woohoo: I will write a trip report but if anybody has questions just give me a ring

You arrived the same day we left. Glad you had a great time and like you, I agree the crowds and heat were bearable in August.

We also did the DVC tour, but didn't receive anything for it. Maybe it's because we also did the DVC presentation on the Disney Cruise Line last year, but we really wanted to see the properties themselves this time. We too are hoping to do this before our next trip.

Did you use the buses from AS Movies? If so, did you share with the other two All-Stars?

When you say manageable, do you mean 15-20 minute waits...with or without fp?

Thanks!:goodvibes

My guess at TT would be you got a new CM from the new batch of College Program kids that are starting up now and he doesn't have the hang of it yet. But that is great that is the only thing that wasn't good on your trip!

We're staying at AS Movies this time too - do they share buses with the other All Stars?

I'm going next month and will be there solo for 4 nights. I'm considering signing up for a DVC tour. I've never done it and I'd be interested in learning about it. Did you sign up at your resort or at DTD? Did you request a specific resort, or do you just see whatever resort is "on tap" for that day? Thanks.

Yes! We have stayed at both All Star Music and Sports. They go in order of the resorts for pick up and drop off which is Sports 1st, Music 2nd and Movies last. Our experience last year with Music wasnt too bad, besides the nights of extra magic hours, where everyone stayed until the very last minute then of course crowded in to the buses!!! :goodvibes

We've stayed at ASMo three times and pretty much they share busses, but on rare occassions they went straight there and didn't stop at the others. Because they do share it seems like they send more busses than the other resorts. Hope that helps. We have rarely waited a really long time.

We were there last week, as well. Most of the major attractions had much longer waits than 15-20 minutes for the stand-by lines. Every time we were in Epcot TT was 40-60 minutes and Soarin' was even longer. TSM was 80+ minutes most of the day and RnRC and ToT were a good 40-50. (Although the single-rider line of RnRC moved pretty quickly...did it 3 times, never waited more than 15-20). BTMRR had 40 minute waits through the end of the night. Obviously, these times aren't true for the first 15-30 minutes the park was open, but long lines developed pretty quickly.

In fact, we didn't ride any major attraction without a FP this trip because the waits were all over 40 minutes, which is too long for us. (The exception to this was the first ride or two we did each morning when the parks had just opened and we didn't need FPs.)

We didn't do any morning EMHs so I can't comment on those. I will say lines didn't really diminish during evening EMHs at Epcot or MK...and we were there until the last half hour or so.

we were leaving the MK and stopped by a booth and started talking to a CM and he signed us up right there to go see the presentation at SS. they have a scaled down version of a studio and a 1 room villa from AKL and the new Bay Lake Tower (which is very nice) and thats when he told us about the kids play spot and everything else.

It helps - thank you.

Ugh though - I hate crowded Disney buses :headache:
