Have a good one...I'll be in the Spa waiting for the Star Wars challege to begin...and counting down the minutes until the Red Sox begin their latest quest to end the curse and grab a World Series championship :D

Oh dear God...a Survivor smilie...now I've seen it all :)

To our Red Sox fans on this thread (including those who are FAIR WEATHERED fans ;) ):
I am so sorry for that terrible loss last night...a SQUEEZE play??!!??!!:crazy2: That really stunk. :headache:

Tonight is Survivor night guys.

Did everyone get their teams and bonus questions done??

Since I'm not a baseball person, anyone wanna run down who's playing whom in the playoffs, so I can keep up with you guys.:teeth:

Speaking of sports, now although Dan is critcally injured - how is it that Atlanta's Dany Heatley and Dan Snyder even SURVIVED this crash is still beyond me...

I hadn't seen that picture. How DID they ever survive?

Playoffs:
Yanks - Twins
Red Sox - Athletics
Marlins - Giants
Cubs - Braves

And today is the 25th anniversary of the Boston Masacre  :duck:

weird...I don't see the Seattle Mariners in that list of baseball teams that are in the playoffs...:teeth:

...they remind me of the Buffalo Bills...oh no wait - the Bills actually MADE it to the Superbowl... :rotfl:

I echo everyone's thoughts here, how could anyone survive that crash?
Danny Heatley is, hopefully not "was" a great young player. His performance in last years all star game was amazing.
This crash is reminiscent of Pelle Lindbergh's crash in the 80's where the Flyers young talented goalie was killed while driving his Porsche.

What a horrific crash. The sad thing is as usual, the one who was doing the driving escaped with barley a mark while the other one suffers.

Lizzie, they way you feel about MLB playoffs is about dead on the way I feel about Survivor. What do you say we meet tonight in the Spa, I’ll rub your back you rub mine and we'll see who comes on top.:chat:

I can't believe I didn't hear anything about that crash. Do we know the extent of the injuries?

When did it happen?

Hello Boss
:wave2: As long as there's a tv in the spa. I'm watching Survivor.

What a scary crash scene. When I first saw the pictures I was totally amazed anyone survived that. It's so sad to see two young lives so affected by carelessness and recklessness. One is fighting for his life and one will be trying to stay out of jail. :(

Lizzie baby, if you jump in the spa with me Survivor or anything else on TV will be the last thing on your mind;)

Guess I should turn the news on, I had no idea about the crash.

edit to say: I just read that link Jas, and I can't believe how sorry they feel for the driver....what about the guy with head injuries? Sure the guy is 22, but he knew better. I can't stand how athletes are seen as being above the law so often.
Prosecutors could allow Heatley to plead guilty to a lesser offense that would remove the possibility of jail time.

Jas thanks for the link. I can't believe I hadn't heard anything about that. For some reason when Atlanta was mentioned I automatically thought baseball.

MK - so true. That whole article I think devoted one line to the one with the serious injuries. With any luck he'll come out ok.

Ok - changing the topic - Anyone have any idea what "semi-formal" means for a teenager. DS has a sweet 16 to go to and I have no idea what is considered semi formal in the teenage group.

Lizzie, probably Dockers type pants and a nice shirt, I would think no tennis shoes either. But I'd bet he could skip a tie.
Aww...sweet 16, hey, I didn't get anything that nice.

I can top that one Jas...after an evening out at a bar and about a 2-4 of beer, my cousin decides he it 'too drunk to drive', so he hands his car keys to his best friend; Quinten who unknown to my cousin is JUST as wasted.

Quinten wraps his honda civic around a lampost, killing my cousin in the passenger seat instantly and Quinten walks away unharmed, but not only does he have to live with the guilt that he killed his best friend for the rest of his life - he has to pay for it, by serving time. :(

Madonna, that is so horrible. I'm so sorry about your cousin. People just don't get it. No one thinks of the ramifications of driving while intoxicated. Not only are you risking your life, but your passengers' and other vehicles that are on the road. Not to mention the legal consequences. I don't think I could live with the guilt of having ended a life.

It petrifies me to think the my DS and DD have friends that are driving and will be driving themselves in a year. These punky kids behind the wheels of dangerous weapons. In my opinion 16 year olds have no business behind the wheel of a car.

Ok off my soapbox. Thanks for the rant.

MK - thanks, that's what I was thinking. Oh wait, you'll hear all about my daughter's sweet 16. It's coming up in March.
