Looks like half of the World Series is set. The Cubs are out of it... the curse of the goat continues.... It was good to see Pudge Rodriguez named the NLCS MVP. The Marlins got a bargain when the Rangers decided to not pick him up. WTG Pudge!!

You have to feel for the Cub's fan who can no longer show his face. I don’t know if any of you saw the jerks who tried to expose him, beat the crap out of him for what he did. They interviewed this one JERK who said that all ball fans know that you stand back when the ball comes into the seats so to give the player a chance to catch the ball. Give me a break. I’d like to ask that idiot if it was a Marlin’s player trying to catch the ball if they would have given him the ‘space’ he required to catch the baseball.
Sad world when this guys life is in peril over a game.

JEB and the State of Florida have offered this guy amnesty. They will set him up for 6 months at an ocean view condo until the storm is over. If this does happen, just curious what those living in Florida have to say if it is paid by tax dollars.

Finally, Go Sox! It will be nice to see Raja pitch his last game against the team he started it all with all those years ago. Sad thing though, Raja can still pitch and throw harder than 80% of the young guys out there.

On a serious note, I find it totally pathetic that a person has to live in fear over something that happened at a baseball GAME. See that word, GAME. Not a life or death situation but a GAME. Get a grip folks. If your team wasn't a bunch of losers you would have won anyway.

Then how come one braodacst showed six or seven other fans around him all trying to catch the ball? It wa just their dumb luck that they didn't or else it would have been their houses getting buzzed by news helicopters.

I totally buy the fan's explanation. He was so focused on catching the ball, he didn't even realize that Alou had a shot at it. The only reason I'm sorry the Cubbies lost was because he might have gotten off the hook if they won.

One curse continues. Another one will tonight. On the other hand, maybe the Red Sox should win it, so they can put a bat in Pedro's hand. OTOH, they'd be too chicken s**t and probably work the rotation so that he only pitches in an AL park.

Madonna, the soccor player you are referring to was named Escobar. He was shot by a Columbian fan when he scored into his own net. This was during the world Cup held in the USA, I believe that was the 1994 one. When he went back home he was at the market and fan walked up to him and shot him in the head. The fan later said that Escobar had cost him his house. If I am not mistaken the game in question was against the USA.

I didn't mean any one on this thread or those that I "talk" with, there are others of which I speak that post in other threads and boards (on the DIS).

I really didn't mean anything malicious by my statement. It's just that I spend time on other boards than just the CB and there are people who are very crazy (and very scary) out there.

I'm sure Sandy knows of at least one I have in mind.
