Wow, the past few days have been pretty crazy. We've had so much rain...atleast 6 inches in less than 24 hours.

I had first aid/CPR training on Saturday for my summer job and driving home was so scary! I could hardly see and there were some massive puddles that I had to go through. One of the streets closer to our house was so flooded. We also had to move some stuff out of the basement because we started to get some water down there.

Luckily it's all gone now and there isn't supposed to be any rain the next couple days. There was also one little area in our village where it looked like a mini tornado hit- a lot of trees were uprooted and/or split. So I guess we were pretty lucky we didn't have to deal with that. Anyway, let's get back to my report...
Day 3: Friday, May 16, 2008...A Morning at Epcot
Today was finally the day of the Pirate and Princess Party! We decided to go back to Epcot for the morning. We also had to pick up our rental car for Sea World at the Dolphin so it was convenient for that. We woke up, got ready, ate breakfast and were on our way. We don't waste time.

Before heading to the bus stop we checked the savannah again for animals but didn't really see anything.
Our good luck with the buses continued as we only had to wait a couple minutes at most. Soon we were at the gate.
We stood in line for a few minutes before they started letting people through the turnstiles and up to the ropes. We planned to go to Soarin first (like most people!) so we went to the rope furthest to the right. There were a couple really nice CMs talking to a little girl and her family while we waited. That must be so fun for CMs to get to interact with all the guests! I would love that. Once the little ceremony was over we were (slowly) on our way. Normally we get fastpasses for Soarin but we decided we didn't really need them. I think we ended up being in the first ride of the day anyway- there weren't too many people in front of us. Once everyone was in place we were given our flight instructions.
I really love this ride. The liftoff, the music, the effects, everything! It's brilliant! It's also fun seeing all the reactions of the first-timers. Though this time I guess everyone had either already been on it or were still tired because nobody really seemed excited. We've been on a couple times when people clapped when it was over and kept saying how cool it was. Ohh well!
Our next stop was Mission:Space. Now, I am still too terrified to try this ride so only Claire and Dad rode. They love it and keep telling me it's not that bad. Well, I just remember going on the Jimmy Neutron ride at Universal Studios and almost got sick on that (and that is a kids ride?!?! LOL). I do not like motion simulators! So while they rode I went to get fastpasses for Test Track and snapped a few pictures.
I also bought a cute pin in the Mission:Space giftshop. It's Mickey riding in one of the Test Track cars. I'll be posting pics of all my souvenirs later on in my report.
When Claire and Dad came out of M:S we still had some time before we could use our fastpasses. I wanted to get some character pictures so we went over to the new Character Spot.
There were quite a few people in line so I think we waited about 20 minutes. But once we got to the characters it went pretty fast. It was so great to be able to get pictures with all those characters in one place. First up was Mickey!!
It was so cute watching the little kids in front of us (and even behind us) interacting with the characters. I can only imagine what it's like for parents when they take their kids.

It was finally our turn to meet Mickey!
Aww, so cute! Gotta love the mouse. Next up was Pluto. All of the characters had a photopass photographer with them which explains why we're not looking at the camera.
I had to laugh after we saw Minnie because there was this family behind us with a younger boy and he would NOT go by Minnie...I guess he didn't want his picture with a girl! So finally his dad took a picture with Minnie and that got him over there. Too funny.
Chip and Dale were next!
And last but not least, Goofy!
On our way out of the building we saw that Snow White was there so of course we had to take one more picture since we usually don't see her.
I think I've got this whole princess thing down, don't you?

She was really cool the way she was interacting with everyone. She asked us what kingdom we were from and noticed how we brought the "king" with us. Lots of fun!
We were able to take pretty many pictures in the Character Spot...Claire and I each got our own picture with each character and Dad got in a couple too.
When we left we could tell it was starting to get more humid outside. But we walked over to Test Track to use our fastpasses. After Test Track Dad suggested that we go see Turtle Talk with Crush since we had never done that before. So we headed over to the Seas with Nemo and Friends. The ride was pretty much a walk-on and then we went to wait for the next show. I didn't realize they had all of those exhibits right in the waiting area so that was kind of cool. The show was really cute too. Very funny. Here's a short video I took:
I was wrong in assuming this show was just for kids. Yeah, there were a lot of kids but also a lot of adults (who didn't have kids). We got a kick out of it, especially when Crush told the kids to use "Dude" for the rest of the day and all the parents groaned.
By this time we were getting pretty hungry so we went to get lunch at the Electric Umbrella. I had the chicken nuggets which were very good. I can't remember what Claire and Dad had...I think maybe just hamburgers.
There were quite a few kids in there who were obviously on school trips. That just seems so weird to me to go on a field trip to Disney World! But I guess when you live around there it's probably pretty popular for end-of-the-year trips.
Next up: Around the world in 15 minutes
PS: Could someone tell me how to get this moved over to the Trip Reports board (I think I saw somewhere to PM the mods)?! TIA!
