I was wondering if they have internships for someone who wants to learn stage Pyro? DD Loves Pyro and there's not a College Major in pyrotechnics so she needs on the job training for it. She wants to be a Pyrotechnition for Concerts until she married then work either sound or lights. So She'll get her major in Sound or Lighting and then get some on the job training for pyro and she's looking for a place that provides those kinds of internships. Do the internships at WDW pay ther interns any money? or no?

I would try asking on the community board, because I know there are a few people over there who were in the college program. there is also info out there on the web

There is a thread here in the Budget board about the Disney College Program.

The Cp's are paid while on the program. They work about 30 hours a week. They are required to live on campus and they take your rent right out of your paycheck.

My daughter is on her second CP experience. She has also applied for the advanced internship.

I haven't heard of any internship for what you are looking for but maybe someone else will know.

From my two experiences with the college program, you normally dont get what you want, its what spot needs filling at the time. I do not think they have this at all, most get the experience at Fullsail school in orlando, to work at the parks in lighting and sound, etc. Pyro employees probably have to work with a company before hand.

Internships are available, not necessarily in pyrotechnics specifically, but it seems that those internships are way more flexible than regular CP jobs.
