The Cast
Me-32-female, I go to WDW at least once per year, DCL as much as possible! First trip having to rely on a motorized wheelchair due to an injury on my ankle.
Oneill-5-male, My nephew , first trip to WDW , first Cruise

Day 1 11-12-03
Actually today is the day before the actual trip. But due to an early flight and an hours drive to the airport decided to spend the nite in Oklahoma City at the Amerisuites. Got to the City at about 5pm, settled into the room and went accross the driveway to Tony Romas for dinner. The room at Amerisuites was nice but very loud due to being right in front of the elevators. We had a relaxing evening, I read , Oneill played his game boy, and I put him to bed rather early so that we could get up at 5am.

Day 2 11-13-03
The day we have been waiting for. Got up bright and early and rather than risk it taking the hotel shuttle opted for a taxi so we had a few extra min to get settled. With my ankle injury extra time is a major plus. Almost left the pin bag in the car at the hotel, so a few paniced moments running to get that! Got to the airport and did curbside check in and made our way thru the major construction to security check points. Because I sometimes have to wear a removable cast that is equiped with about 30 pounds of metal(ok ok, not 30 but a lot) I had to wait to be wanded. O'neill thought that it was fun to watch me have to be patted down and checked for explosives in my cast. Then we wandered to get some overpriced breakfast near the gate. O'neill could hardly wait to get on the airplane. He has flown before but he doesnt remember as he was only 1 yr old. At the gate I asked to board before the rest of the crowd so that I could hobble down the ramp without having to dodge people. Got settled on the plane and we finally were on our way. As we took off Oneill was literally squelling with delight, and asked if we would see heaven! (I sure hoped we wouldnt) Landed in Dallas and found the next gate and again grabbed a snack. On the flight I convinced Oneill that he needed to try and take a nap so that we could go straight into the parks and stay up late. He slept about an hour. Apon arrival at Orlando airport we found the cruise people and followed them to the buses to the Poly. It seemed to me that we were at the airport FOREVER. They didnt even leave the airport until about 3pm, and we landed at 1pm. I am not sure why we had to wait so long. Thankfully they had cartoons on the bus for him to watch. We got to the poly and check in was easy, I had asked for a room close to the monorail and got one. Also my rented scooter was already there and waiting for me from Walker Mobility. Made our way to the room and ordered room service as we were now starving. I should state that it was only my second time using a scooter and on the way to the room I crashed 3 times:) So onto the scooter I went and made our way to the Magic Kingdom. Oneill loved the monorail ride over even though it was short, I did not like the monorail ride because I had to manuver the scooter onto it and I wasnt quite good at it yet! But I did survive it. We got to the park and headed straight for Buzz Lightyears and this was prob Oneills favorite ride in the world. The picture didnt come out because his head was behind the gun so I figured we would have another chance later. Then we rode TTA and I am sure glad we did because thats when Oneill decided he didnt want to ride Space Mountain. Then we quickly did Snow Whites, and Small world before the spectro magic parade at 6pm and wishes at 7pm. WARNING>>>>Gross things>>>>>
Now as we are in the handicapped seating area for the parade Oneill is acting weird, I dont think much of it figuring he is tired. Well just as the parade begins Oneill leans over the rope and projectile vomits all over the place. My apologies to all that were seated near us or across the street. I have no way to get out of the seating area, and am trying to figure out how to get out of there , finally someone behind us moves and I manage to get him and me out of the mob of people. Oneill is upset because he informed me that now he felt fine and wanted to watch the parade:rolleyes: well, we did kinda watch the parade since we couldnt get out anyways, but it was from a distance. We left heading back to the hotel with me worried that he would vomit again on the monorail. He didnt....I took him straight to the room fearing stomach flu and put him to bed.

MENTAL NOTES MADE TODAY.

1. Always have a plastic bag handy for vomitting children
2. Driving scooters requires a lot of patience and understanding
