WDW without kids - what do you do?

My DH and I will be taking our first World trip without kids this August. We plan on doing exactly what we want, when we want to. More strolling through the parks and people watching. We still enjoy many of the rides but not the big thrill ones like Tower of Terror. We plan on pool time in the afternoons, quiet dinners and especially strolling through all of the countries in the World Showcase. Our kids were not thrilled at that part of Epcot, too tame for them I guess.

meal and try to remember how to have an adult conversation.

Seriously, over our Valentine's dinner, my wife and I discussed what it would be like to go to Disney when our kids are older or even when are kids have moved out. Our dining and touring plans will be significantly different. I'll definitely go for the deluxe dining plan when we travel by ourselves.

Today the vacation is for our kids. I'm totally happy with that. I work a lot of hours when I'm not on vacation so I look forward to vacation as a time to spend with my family. Everything is geared toward the kids. We even separate so both of us have some time alone with each kid.

Still, there will be a time in the future when they are not there and somehow we will cope. We'll spend their ticket money on more and better food.

i've gone to disney a few times (4, i believe) without kids, and going back in december with my mom, and each time is more enjoyable than the last. you can eat where ever you choose - and if you want chicken fingers and french fries - go for it!

for dinner, i would suggest fulton's crab house in downtown disney. it's part of the dining plan, but it's amazing and the view is unbeatable - especially as the sun is setting. also, the california grill in the contemporary is great - just make sure you are there during the fireworks at the magic kingdom.

have fun!!

I have been with kids and w/o, and plan to do both again until I can take grnadchildren - which better not be any time soon.....

Our itinerary really doesn't change much to be honest. Perhaps a little more time at meal time, bt not a lot. My DW tends to have my schedule planned for me :). and it doesn't leave a lot of room for lazing around.

I would have to second what many other posters have said, do what you want to do. If thats a character meal great, if thats a 3 hr dinner at Le Cellier.....
