Hi DISers!! Just wondering if any of you had any advice or experience with taking your Snap N Go Stroller to WDW. Mainly I am wondering about the car seats (Graco Snug Rides) on the buses. We have twin 6 month olds and will be taking our SnG with us. Will they allow us to keep our little Mouseketeers in their car seats on the bus?

Any other tips or hints for taking the SnG? Thank you in advance!

I'm a big fan of the Snap N Go but I think it might be difficult at Disney. You'll have to fold up the stroller on the bus. Which means each parent carrying a SnugRide with baby inside or trying to carry two babies, a folded stroller, and 2 car seats on and off the bus. The buses can get quite crowded at times which won't make things easier for you.
We've been to Disney multiple times with 3 kids in strollers and find that light-weight, easily to collapse strollers work best on the buses.
The monorail is much different because you can keep the babies in the stroller.
Maybe someone else has a different experience?

I had to use DS's car seat on our recent trip to WDW since DH brought the wrong adapter. I was able to keep him in his car seat. On the very last night we were there the bus driver made me take him out. He said if something happened the car seat would go flying. I personally would rather he fly all cocooned in the car seat than fly out of my arms. DS loves his car seat so it worked well. I did also wear him and put him in DD's stroller seat so he wasn't in the car seat all day long.

I would definitely bring it. It will be so much easier having the infant seat for meals & stuff rather than relying on a highchair. The snap & go is so easy to fold up & take along- just as easy as an umbrella stroller. Plus, the basket is a great size for storing stuff & you'll have good sun coverage. We brought ours (only 1 baby though) to Sesame Place & it worked out great.

Just my opinion, but I can't even imagine fooling with a travel system while at Disney, much less TWO! Maybe if I was driving instead of relying on Disney transportation, but still....I would also consider the time of year you're going. I can't help but think those heavy, padded seats and strollers would get HOT in the summer months, much less make YOU hot trying to push them around the park!

We had a chance to go when DD will be 4 mos old and thought better of it, simply for the fact, that we'd most likely need to take her infant seat. Maybe by 6 mos, your twins will be sitting up and be able to handle a lighter weight stroller, maybe a lightweight double??? Maybe the Combi Cosmo or Combi TwinSport?

?

I think they are referring to the double snap-n-go, which is just a very lightweight stroller base - nothing like a travel system, and way lighter than any lightweight stroller. I have twins, and this is what I would do, just to have the carseats to use as seats, in the hotel, at restaurants, etc.

Thank you for all of the repsonses! We will have family with us at all times to help carry a baby and a car seat, so I am not too worried about lugging it all around. We are also taking the Baby Bjorns so they aren't in their seats the whole time. And with all of our family (all 10 of them!) they won't be lacking for attention or being held! (I'll be lucky if I get a chance to hold them once in a while! LOL )

The babies are still pretty little 11 and 12 lbs, and are most comfortable in their car seats rather than any other stroller, so that's not really an option.

Thank you again!!!

It sounds like you have made up your mind but I wanted to offer an opinion. We never use the infant car seat in WDW. It's big, hot (we usually travel in the summer), and it's one more thing to lug onto the buses. Our ped. told us that the carseats shouldn't be used as long term seating anyway, so we simply bought a stroller that fully reclines and DS and DD slept in there when they were infants. The restaurants that don't offer infant high chairs allow a stroller inside if the baby cannot sit in a traditional high chair. Many people don't know this and assume they cannot bring the stroller inside, but we have eaten all over WDW, on multiple trips with little babies, and never have been told to park the stroller (another post of mine has the complete list of restaurants that we have been to). Have a great trip!:goodvibes

ETA I just reread your post and it sounds like your babies are 6 months? When will you be traveling? I know both of our kids wanted to be out looking around at that age. I would think you would be fine with a good lightweight stroller that reclines.

I think the OP said they were 11 pounds, 6 months old, so I'm guessing preemies. So, it seems to be more like bringing infant twins than typical 6 month old twins.

For the busses - what would be the strategy if you couldn't get seating on the bus? There have been lots of threads on this forum about crowded busses, no seats available for people holding infants - could you hold the babies in the carseats on the bus?

in the parks I think the carseats would be nice, but not on the busses. In August I'm sure the busses are just insane. We have gone in April in the past, and I couldn't even imagine trying to find a place for a carseat. april wasn't even considered a busy season. If you put it on the floor, they will get trampled. Putting it on the seat wouldn't be safe either. you would have to try and put the carseat on your lap. And if you don't get a seat (which the chances are pretty high you won't), you will have to carry the car seat while trying to hold your balance.

If you want to take the car seats, I would HIGHLY recommend getting a rental and driving yourself.
