We have been going to WDW since DD was around 18 months old.
This year we will be traveling with DD (4) and DS who will be 3 months old at the time of travel.

We haven't taken a baby that small with us before so I'm a little nervous.
I think the babe will be fine since we are going in December but I'm not quite sure... I know it won't be too hot at least.

Also, I don't want to take in a full diaper bag, so I need to find something that will hold diapers, wipes, change of clothes, but also the regular stuff like the cameras, phones, wallet, etc.

Do you have any tips/suggestions with traveling an infant that small? What about the right kind of bag?

ANything else you could suggest would be great!!!

TIA!

We took our 3 mos old daughter in Nov 09. I got a lot of good advice from reading this thread: http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=2028372&page=2

We had a couple of hot days, but other than that she was good with the weather. She slept a lot in the stroller but liked to look around at all the people and "things." We used the baby centers a lot.

Obviously, we didn't do a lot of rides, but we had a great time as a family. We took her on Pirates, IASW, Toy Story Mania, Haunted Mansion...she fell asleep on Kilimanjaro Safaris. The only thing she didn't like was It's a Bug's Life, but she was fine in Mickey's Philharmagic.

For food, we only did one table-service restaurant. We did mostly counter-service because we weren't sure how she'd do.

I used this diaper bag

but we only have one child so you may need something larger.

when we went with our baby we used a bookbag with a bunch of pockets and 3 seperate sections instead of a regular diaper bag. it held everything we needed it to and then some, and it fit nicely in the bottom of the stroller. I'm not sure if you are breast feeding or bottle feeding, but we brought 2 drop in bottles, a bunch of liners and about 5 nipples. This way i knew that her bottles were always sanitary, and if we needed to use the nipples more than once, all the baby care centers have a sterilizer that you can use. We also brought a baby bjorn carrier with us and it was great. Your ds will be able to go on most of the rides in MK and it is so much easier to use the carrier rather than taking him in and out of the stroller every time. Don'y forget to bring your infant tylenol/motrin (just in case) as these are very expensive in the parks. Bring some ziplock bags for your ds' dirty/wet clothes, it really helps =) Thats all i can think of right now, hope this helps, and have a great time!!

Thanks! I got in at disneystore.com, but unfortunately I don't see it on there anymore. It was a create-your-own diaper bag. They have messenger bags now, but I'm not sure how roomy they are and if they would attach to a stroller.

I'm a backpack girl, but when I got my diaper bag, I really wanted a vera bradley diaper bag so I splurged. We took our DS when he was 12 weeks old, and in December, so right around the same time as your baby, and that bag was way too big. There was an Eddie Bauer backpack diaper bag that I thought would be good for my DH, and soon after we came home, I found the bag on clearance in Target, and that's the big we still use today, almost 2.5 years later. Like I said, I'm a backpack girl, and before Joel, I always had a regular backpack in the park. It's worked out well for us, and you could probably do the same with a regular backpack.

I was- and still am- a huge fan of the baby care centers. I nursed there, mixed bottles there, continue to change diapers there, used high chairs to feed him food in there, cleaned bottles and sippy cups too.

WoW! Thank you for all this info!
It makes me feel a lot better about taking DS there this year. I'm thinking he will be right around 13 weeks if he makes his appearance within a week of my due date.
:woohoo::woohoo:

I don't know if you will be using a stroller but I just bought an attachment for my stroller that held at least 3 bottles (water, baby bottles, it was stretchy so lots fit), and it also had zipper parts for my camera and phone. I just put diapers and wipes on the bottom. My baby wasn't that small when we went but still needed all that.

The first trip with my DD she was 7 weeks. We started out with a diaper bag but by the middle of the trip I stopped with bags altogether and just lined the bottom of the stroller with diapers, wipers and extra clothes. It made for easy access. I did have a bag for her bottles and formula.

We also went in December and we had a few very warm days that I was not expecting so she got some really cute Disney outfits.

We took her on all the rides that were safe for her and saw all the shows. She did not like It's Tough to be a Bug either but I think that was more my fault as I jumped when I was "stung" in the back. Oops. :confused3

No matter what you decide to do it will turn out fine. Just remember to take a lot of breaks so neither of you get overwhelmed and take a lot of pictures. (Just a little tip the Princesses love babies and may "steal" him for a few moments.)

I use a bagalini messenger bag. I'm able to fit stuff in there for two kids plus all supplies, diapers, camera wallet ect. You can get a lot of stuff in that bag!

We took DS3 this past jan. he was 2mths old, weather was decent and we had just a sma;; bag but in the end found a good diaper bag at Columbia. I needed extra clothes, diapers, nursing cover, blankets, and then a few thingd for the older boys.

I had a wrap which helped in line ups, and a stroller, which we used his infant seat with. so he was used to it and slept well in it.

Have fun, I think all the lights and such would be neat to see!
