WDW with Carry-on Luggage Only? (Is it possible)

We're a family of 7, and no longer check any luggage. Each child is responsible for a bag, with wheels. It was a little tricky the last time we flew, because DH dropped us off with all of the luggage, and went to long term parking, so I had to get us all through security. There is always the option to do some laundry.

Same here- We're a family of 4 and it was a great day when my youngest was big enough to drag a bag. We can easily pack enough for a week in a carry-on bag and a backpack each. We are light packers and buy very little while on vacation. We've done 2 weeks in Europe with only checked luggage. On that trip we did landry once.

DD13 is the only one who might like to take a bit more as she likes choices when dressing but she's been raised to travel this way and has learned to pack light, as well.

We did this before the airlines started charging. We just hate wasting time waiting around for our luggage.

I have done it for business trips and personal trips in the US and O(utside) US. I have never regretted it. Instead, it has made me streamline and carry less stuff I don't need. :thumbsup2 Orlando is typically warm enough to carry less clothing. We've even been during a cold December that had us at Epcot in 30 degrees. We brought 1-2 pair of jeans a person, the heavy coat we wore to the airport, and then pack a light jacket or sweater for cool but not cold evenings. In the warmer months, it is even easier to fit everything into the carry-ons. Oh, and I like dressing cute for the parks like I do IRL. So I plan my outfits in advance and stick with it!

I take a measuring tape when I purchase carry on luggage. I get the largest allowed by the declared dimensions on the website. I also carry a backpack instead of a purse as my smaller item. I put my purse in the backpack and carry toiletries in the backpack.

I hate checking bags. Airlines now can decide to not send your bags and just send them on the next flight. Happened to us. With all of the craziness I have dealt with while flying, I don't leave my bags to chance ;)

It really just depends on what you need. We have to check at least 1 bag every trip. Why? Because I can't go on a week vacation meeting the 311 requirements (sulfate free shampoo, conditioner, saline solution, medication)

Saline solutions and liquid medications are not subject to the 3-1-1 rule. You can take as much of those items as you need...you just need to declare it when going through security...

Most of our trips is on a harley for 2 weeks at a time everything I own for 2 weeks has to fit in one of the saddle bags about half the size of a carry on...so sure that would be easy to do very easy.

for riding on harley, 2 pairs jeans, 2 shirts, 2 underwear an bras, underwear can be used for disney stay possibly 1 of the shirts. 3 pairs of shorts, total of 3 shirts 2 pairs of shoes 1 small bottle of shampoo an condioner, 1 travel size bottle of shower soap stuff 1 pick couple of ponytail holders my meds an I set to go for 2 weeks at least oh yeah swimsuit too an flipflops. I do laundry every other day as a rule.

I'd check one bag. That way you don't have to worry about liquids and can pack your toiletries without concern. It can be a big bag.

Also, how many snacks are you going to go through? In our experience, the $12 delivery fee itself doesn't cover the difference in snacks over buying them at the gift shop in the resort - if indeed its just snacks. When we start talking GROCERIES, then its worth it. But in five days we go through a carton of fruit snacks and a box of granola bars.

this may seem like a silly question, but do you have to pay for a checked bag on the way there and Back? I was thinking it was just going to be $25 for the roundtrip? Help

Not for me! I would think you could get away with 2 suitcases. Pack 1 adult and 1 child's things in each suitcase. Of course, I'm an overpacker. Every year everyone holds their breath at the airport when they weigh my bag. it usually comes in just under 50 lbs! (and I have a bag all to myself) I have 4 kids, I make them share. The 12 year old and the baby share and the 9 year old and the 2 year old. I can't imagine schlepping kids and bags through the airport.
