Am I crazy? We took DD last year when she was 2-1/2. We are going to Florida this November to see family and I thought we could stop at WDW for 2 nights on the way down (we are driving). We will have a 3 month old DS by then and I'm worried the drive alone might be to much for him since he won't care if we're going to mickey's house like DD will. I need my Disney Fix.

All I can say is that both my sons tooks their first long driving vacation (of the 24 hour type) at 4 months of age and did just fine. You may--WILL--just need to stop more frequently, especially if nursing, which I highly recommend anyhow.

We were at WDW last Oct. when our girls were 5, 3 and 3.5 months. The baby had so much fun! She loved the shows and the rides. She was mesmerized, and it was so much fun to watch her!

We flew down because the baby HATED being in the car at that time. She would literally scream from the minute you got in until the minute you got out. DH had originally wanted to drive - until she was born! LOL! So how your DS responds to the long drive will really depend on his temperament, I think.

How long will it take you to get to FL?

Thanks everyone. We drove last year and it was during September when they had all those hurricanes. All the traffic was heading the other direction so it only took us about 20 hours of driving. We did stop often cause DD was potty training and we stopped in SC for the night becuase we didn't want to get to Pop Century in the middle of the Hurricane.

Thank you for posting that! We will have a 5 month old on our December trip and I wondered if going to WDW would be a huge mistake.

We went in November (just for a day and night) with our 5 yo DS, 3 yo DS, and 4 mo DD and our DD did just wonderfully. There were only a couple of rides we sat out because she was too little but we dragged her on everything else and she loved it. I even breastfed on POTC and the TTA. In fact, I wasn't done breastfeeding on TTA when it came to an end and we quickly asked if we could go around again. They just reshut our door and off we went! Very relaxing ride.

We went last September when DDs were 3 1/2 and 5 months. Both had a fantastic time! We drove 16 hours to get there and the baby did just fine. We did drive straight through the night, however, and she slept for a large portion of the trip.

Good Luck!
