I am not that great a photographer. Here is mine.

Don't worry about being good or not. Even though it's a photo contest, it really doesn't matter. Post what you've got.

I would consider myself an okay amature at best. What I do is look at the "good" picures and figure out what makes them good. Then I try to do that. Try it.
