Day 7 Mon 3/15
We were supposed to split a day between MGM and Epcot today. Transferring MIL and her ECV were getting to be a pain and time consuming-- so we settled on MGM only.
Today it was raining (which the rain held off the night before). Thankfully it was still warm. We get through the gates, and can't believe the crowds. I have NEVER been to MGM when it's crowded. We must just always hit it right!
Anyhow, DS and I beeline for RNRRC for FP's. I've already prewarned DS-- we're skipping TOT this trip. I usually ride it once for him, but I really don't like it (I can't stand being dropped).
We are supposed to meet at the hat. I don't see DH and MIL and I'm getting alittle mad. It's raining and I don't want another delay today like we had yesterday. Turns out MIL needed another 15 min pit stop.
We decide on The Great Movie Ride First. The lines pretty low, the crowds are still at TOT and RNRRC. Now, with the EVC they moved us to a separate line. They also loaded us right away. I was embarassed. I know we were getting some dirty looks. So, I am sorry to anyone who was in that line. I don't think it's fair. I think this is a fault in the Disney system and use of the EVC lines.
After that we are heading to WWTBAM. I love this attraction, as does DS. However he pouts when he's wrong. We had almost 15 minutes until of FP's were ready. The nice CM gave them to us even though DS and I were still blocked from our 1st FP. We saw Minnie and Sorcere Mickey while waiting. There was no line for either. I think everyone was still at TOT and RNRRC.
After WWTBAM I made a mention of gettin Ice cream during Indy's show. MIL thought I was crazy it was freezing from the AC in WWTBAM. Well to each their own lady. When we made our way to Indiana Jones, it was full. So DH is still in his getting aggrivated mode. He's just burnt out and ready to go home too. He says he's gonna go smoke and stay there all day. Well the FP's for most things are already for later in the day, and Standby times are at 60 min minimum. We usually go off season so we are not used to this. I actually suggest hopping to Epcot. It seems as there are a lot of dance/cheerleaders in town for events this weekend. It seems most of them were at MGM that day. They were all well behaved, just made for LARGE crowds. MIL scoffs at the idea. She wants to see the shows. Well, that's great, but we can't. You need a FP, they are already gone!! The standby lines aren't letting you in, because the people who have been waiting 60 minutes are the only ones getting in. Her and DH decide to go head to Beauty and the Beast-- there's a show in 45 min, and with any luck they'll make it in. I don't want to be near neither one. The rain and humditity along with the crowds has both of them miserable. DS and I are gonna go look for characters. We hit gold. Just as we walked to the hat. Some, that we haven't gotten before, we're coming out. We spent awhile doing that.
DS wanted to have his face painted, in spite of the rain. I decided what the heck. Small thing, and it made him so happy. I was alittle cranky today as well. It was really time to go home--- I bit DS's head off a few times. I was feeling really guilty. None of this was his fault. I needed to remember that.
We met back up w/ DH and his mom at Backlot Express for lunch. The lines were really long. MIL was gonna go get a table, because she wasn't gonna stand that long. Which meant DH was gonna get her stuff. And I was gonna have to handle ours alone. Oh well, I needed to stop dwelling on the small stuff.
Lunch was uneventful---- it was off to find a spot for the parade next and do alittle shopping. I decided I to just sit-- so I held the spot. MIL comes back almost 30 minutes later loaded w/ packages..... turns out she bought me something........
