WDW vs Atlantis- Am I insane?

I'm crunching numbers for both and still find myself torn between the two.
Granted we've been to WDW twice (values), and I've rented points for this Christmas at VWL. BUT, I've also booked a trip using a PIN code at Poly/BC. DH is not too happy about the rate I got. They only had LV for Poly and Deluxe Concierge for BC. But w/the Disney Visa, it would make paying it off easier.

The girls were on the fence about visiting another country vs WDW. I didn't give them details about Atlantis. Especially the fact that we'd get to see Justin Beiber :rotfl: It would be all over once I mentioned that, and I haven't quite decided if JB would be an incentive or deterrent for me, LOL.

They mentioned it might be cool to try another country since we've been to WDW. Which left me quite bummed, LOL. DH thinks they'll have a blast at either one. Although I'd probably do the Atlantis trip next summer, I do worry about overdoing WDW. BUt the thought of cancelling those FAB rooms makes me so sad. I've wanted to try SAB for so long, but find it funny that I'm putting it head to head w/Atlantis.

Most think I'm crazy for considering 2 Disney trips in one year. They also find my comparison crazy. Is it bonkers even for a die hard DISer?

We went to the Atlantis in 2006 and it was great and I would love to go back. It is very expensive for food and drinks..think a can of pop $4. They are to different types of trips. If I could go back I would, but I would not use my disney trip $$$ for it. Right now I am all about Disney, so the Atlantis would only be if we had the extra $$ and already went to Disney

Atlantis! We only went one day when our cruise ship was at the port, but WOW! We stayed at the BCV's on that same trip, and you can't compare SAB to Atlantis - seemed pretty pathetic in comparison (Atlantis has the most amazing "lazy" river ever).

Go to Atlantis!! I love WDW too but since you are going this Christmas I would go to the Bahamas. We have been to the Atlantis and it is amazing. The pp is correct. SAB is fun but the pools at the Atlantis are WAY better!! The slides are so much fun -- especially the one that goes thru the sharks!!:scared1: The grounds are beautiful -- all the aquariums, the theming-- it really is a great resort! Try something new-- you will be back with the mouse in Dec!!

They're 2 very different vacations.

Disney, I don't find relaxing, even when we go at a slow pace.

Atlantis is pretty much a lounge around and play kind of place. Not nearly as much walking, but there are lots of cool pools and water rides!

Are your kids adventurous in the water? If so, go to Atlantis. If they're a little iffy about the water, then I say stick with Disney!

Yeah, I think that's the same deal we're doing. I still go back and forth. Just when I get set on one, then I start longing for the other. And now my younger DD is saying WDW. LOL

I'd go to Atlantis. We go to Disney a lot but we also do a lot of other traveling as well. My kids love Disney but they also love to experience other places. I always thought kids couldn't love anything more than Disney but actually their favorite trips have been our trips to Mexico and St John. Show your kids pictures of the Atlantis and I think the younger one will quickly change her mind about going to Disney. I haven't been to Atlantis yet but its definitely on our "to do" list once our youngest gets a little older.

For those that have been to the Atlantis, would you take a 2 1/2 yo? I was thinking about this for next summer and my 4 kids would be 13, 11, 8 and 2.

TIA!

We went to Atlantis last year and my youngest was 5. I would definately take a 2 1/2 year old. They have alot of water areas which are very shallow and they have the water area that is just for younger kids. If your little one would like to walk or sit in a stroller and look at the fish, they would really enjoy it. Alot of the restaurants are really kid friendly too.

My almost 2 year old LOVED it! All day long he played in the kiddie pool are and in the evenings he could spend hours looking at the aquariums.

Honestly I've been going back and forth on this because I've been thinking the SAME thing! Well since my fam loves Disney, I figured I'd just work my home business a bit harder and do both! :lmao: I'm planning on doing Disney next May and in June we'll be doing Atlantis with my sister and her kids and also my mom. I'll be toting along a 13 y/o, a 2 1/2 y/o, and 7 month old! I may be nuts but I couldn't decide!:confused3:lmao:
