WDW Vow Renewals

Hi there! As you can tell by my username, DH and I honeymooned in WDW -- and now, we're talking about having a vow renewal there too!

We had a traditional wedding-y wedding the first time around, but we both felt we should have eloped to a tropical location. So.. we thought of having our renewal at our favorite place on earth, and at the Polynesian Resort, to tie in that tropical flavor! What could be better!?

Has anyone had a Deluxe Intimate Vow Renewal before? Any input or info would be greatly appreciated!

We did a VR at sunset pointe at the Poly in December of last year. It was gorgeous! Perfect weather - and the view from there is incredible. Our photos turned out beautifully!

Rev. Jack Day did our ceremony, Disney floral did the flowers, DPS shot the stills, and Stan from STVS shot the video.

I am just curious if you, or anyone else, has pictures of their event to share, and if you felt that the price was worth it. If we go ahead with the Deluxe Intimate, it'll only be $1000 less than our original wedding!

Could you kind of give me details about everything Disney did for you, and how the timeline of the actual day went? I'm totally flying blind here.. Thanks!!

I haven't personally done a wdw vr or ftw, but I do know that you can do what is called an add-on, only if you already have an existing room reservation. This is what I will plan on doing because we visit WDW pretty often and have become seasonal passholders, and will not need the tickets. The add-on is considerably less than the entire package, so if you are interested in this, I would go ahead and book a room, get it paid for, purchase your tickets seperately, and then call WDW ftw's dept about the add-on, from what I understand it is the same package just minus the accomodations, and tickets. I think someone else here said their price was $2,030, which is pretty cheap considering the wedding packages begin at $4,000. HTH

Kim, thanks for the tip! The package we were looking at starts at $3500, but considering the time of year we wanted to do this (our anniversary is March 30, Spring Break/Easter time), I'm sure the cost would be higher.

Anyway, this add-on idea sounds great. Can you still have the ceremony in whatever location you want, or is it more limited? Must you have a room booked in the moderate level, or is value okay?

We just did an add-on Vow Renewal in May. There are two prices, $2300 for ceremonies and cake and champagne receptions at the Sunset Point at the Poly, Sunrise Terrace at Wildlerness Lodge, Yacht Club Gazebo, and SeaBreeze Point at the Boardwalk. These ceremonies can be any day of the week. For $3100 your ceremony is at the Wedding Pavilion and cake and champagne ceremony at the Grand Floridian's Commander's Terrace. These ceremonies can only take place from Monday to Thursday. Hope this helps!

Now I am a little confused -- what all does the $2300 include? Surely not just a ceremony, cake and champagne!

Basically, what we want is to have a renewal at Sunset Pointe at the Poly, possibly a little cake and champagne afterward (although it's only going to be the two of us, so this might feel silly), and a second honeymoon at WDW. Is that possible without breaking the bank, or feeling ripped off?

Your best bet is to go to www.disneyweddings.com. There it tells you what's included. From what I can remember it's the site, ceremony, officiant, violinist, bouquet for you and bout for your hubby, photography which includes a 12 picture folio, cake and champagne and a limo for 4 hours. I may have left something out, so I would check the site to make sure. HTH!
