WDW VMK in-park quests info 1/7/07

As some may know VMK is in the process of starting new in-park quests in DLR and WDW. At this point they are not printing any more of the previous quests cards and are slowly running out.

Chedstro (Coriander in VMK) and I (CL_OutOfMyMind in VMK) went to WDW's VMK Central today to do all the in-park quests available. Below are the quests still available at WDW and any new info on them.

- Fantasyland Quest
- Frontierland Quest
- High School Musical Quest
- Thrill Seekers Quest (They do not have any more Kali River Couch cards, so are giving out an 100 credit card instead.)
- Pirates Quest
- There are no bonus pack cards available for completing all the quests, but the wristband is still available.

They also "found" some more tent room cards, so these are currently available for the PDFs previously received from a characters Jungle Cruise first top 10 placing.

They do not have any more gold collection cards, so are giving 100 credit cards for these also. These PDFs are still being given for finding all 50 Hidden Mickeys.

Thanks, Out for this new information. I had someone today ask me about Teleportation Magic, and I wasn't quite sure what to tell him/her (I don't remember which it was!).

When I was there last week, they were giving out a "bonus" pack of various random cards. I forgot what I got in it at this point.

This past Saturday at Disneyland's VMK Central we recieved the full Tomorrowland set, full High School Musical set, Pirate room and well chair, Jungle Cruise tent, posters and suitcase, but no Frontierland or Fanstasyland items even though they still had quest cards out. We did get a 500 credit VMK card in place of these prizes though. Oh, and bracelets.

Disney California Adventure still has Animator Desk cards available but you have to attend the class first which is just fine with us, we love it.

Thanks for the update. What about the tomorrowland quest?

I was told that WDW is out of all the Tomorrowland Quest prize cards, so they do not accept the quest anymore. This is a pity as I was hoping to get a few more Teleport Magic pins before the quest was over. Since I think it still says on the VMK pages that this quest is still running, you might be able to convince the CM that a substitute prize would be appropriate.

On a similar but not same note - on thrillseekers quest, can I go to AK first and get the Kali stamp on my printed out quest, or do I have to go to VMK central first and get some kind of pamphlet or quest brochure and have THAT stamped at Kali? We were planning on Animal Kingdom the day before Magic Kingdom...

As long as you have a print out of the quest you can go to AK first and get the Kali stamp. You DO NOT need to ride the ride. The CMs at the head of the Standby/FastPass queues have the stamp. If you go to VMK Central first, they will only send you to AK to get the stamp. Make sure you have 1 ThrillSeekers quest stamped for *EACH* member of the party that is redeeming a quest. The other quests can be redeemed 1 for the entire party.

Any current quest that you print at home can be done before going to VMK Central. The only reason to go to VMK Central is to turn it in and get the prize.

Sorry to say, but 100 credits is NOT an acceptable substitute for something they would sell in game for 2000 (if you figure 500 per piece) and which trades much higher than that! Knowing how long it takes every new quest to come out, I'm not hopeful things will be ready for my trip in two weeks. This seems like very poor planning. Not everyone can get to WDW or DLR every few months or even every year and VMK has become such a big part of our lives since we started planning our trip the kids (and Caribbean_Gal) were looking forward to getting the items we could never trade for - mostly the Thrill Seekers quest items. It may well be 4-5 years before we get back to WDW since there are other things to see in the world. (heh, can you say Caribbean? )

I am hoping they will have it all up and running in May with all of the kinks worked out. New quests old quests all the same to me, it's nice to be able to come home from the trip and have something exciting to do. I was bummed about coming home last time then remembered the huge stack of cards I had and it gave me a little excitement after the let down of getting off that plane. Thanks for the update, can't wait to see what's coming next.
