We are thinking of taking a second trip next year...what would you chose and why?
It's just my husband (28) and I (26). We have never been in the fall/winter. We are going to hopefully stay at a dvc villa for 5 nights and a deluxe or mod for 3 nights.
We would like the crowds to be as light as possible (I know, I know, it's WDW). :)
Would you go in Sept or not? We thought we might but if another battery of hurricanes is a possibility maybe we shouldn't...
Other dates ideas are:
Oct 20 - 28 (mnsshp and food and wine)
Oct 27 - Nov 4 (mnsshp and food and wine)
nov 3 - 11 (food and wine, and vets day - crowds?)
Nov 13 -21 (possible food and wine, thanksgiving crowds?)
Dec 8 -16 (mvmcp)
Dec 4 -12 (mvmcp)
Dec 1 - 9 (mvmcp)
Dec 11 - 19 (mvmcp, holiday crowds?)

Thanks! I know it's in quite a while but I'm a planner addict!

I would not go in Sept but that is just me. The weather is too crazy for me. I don't want to have to worry about that.

We just went the week before Thanksgiving. One reason we went was that it was value season, lower crowds and good weather. Also that some of the Christmas decorations would be up. We loved going at this time. We think everything was perfect.!!!!! We won't go this time next year since it is not Value season anymore. So we are going to go right after Thanksgiving. I have done this before also and I LOVE this time!!! Crowds are SOOO low and it's very festive. (and once again VALUE season)

Crowds and weather are a big thing for my husband and myself. We want lower crowds and nice weather.( not too hot and humid)
So out of the dates you have picked .... If it were me I would go with Dec 1-9. 2nd --- nov 13-21.

I love being in the World during early December and will be there this time next year, but I also liked our November trip. The crowds in December are nice and low and the decorations are beautiful, but the weather can be chilly at times. In November, the weather seems a bit more stable and warmer. If I had to choose, though, I'd pick any one of your December dates simply because of the extra magic in the air around Christmas. I can't wait to go back next year in December :hyper: .

I vote for early december, although this year my hotel buddies said it was absolutely crazy this year....

If you haven't been there for Christmastime yet, I would vote early Dec. The decorations are really spectacular. Weekends get crowded. In fact, it seems that Dec. is getting busier every year. The weather is usually good, but there can be cold snaps.

My other vote would be the earlier Oct. dates, leaving before Halloween itself. I love Food & Wine Festival and MNSSHP is fun even for just adults. The weather in October is sublime.

Of course, Halloween & Christmas are my favorite holidays, so this could be affecting my choices.... But anyway you go, I'd stay away from school breaks & Jersey (election) week since you don't have kids to worry about.

Apparently, Pop Warner (some huge cheerleading and football association) was having its national competitions at World of Sports and it made last week CRAZY for a few days at the parks. I know you cannot plan around everything, but that first week in December was one of my favorites in the past and I am sure we will go down then again!

We did ask if any big conventions, etc were going on that first week in December and were told no, so I assume that the CMs dont really have any way of knowing. Maybe you can check the Pop Warner site and see if they have set their schedule for next year and if it is going to be at WDW.

If you are truly looking for low crouds, my best experience has been in January and February, but avoid the national holidays! We were there before and after President's day last Feb and would have done better to have skipped the parks that day as lots of locals went because they are off work and wanted to get out and enjoy the nice day! Good for them! Long lines for us.

A quick warning, if you are looking forward to warm weather, it can be quite chilly in late November, early December. We went from Dec. 4-8 last year and I was very disappointed in the weather. Sunny but chilly (downright cold in the evenings). We only swam once, and had to run back to the room after getting out of the pool!
