We have a 14 day trip planned for end of May 2018 at WDW and would like to exchange a few days at our 7 mths for VB (never been).

Do you recommend the VB portion of the stay be at the end of the trip?

4 days enough at VB with a 12yo and 9yo?

We will not have a car at WDW- Is the recommendation to rent a car at the Dolphin on the day we head to VB and then return the car to MCO before our flight?

My recommendation is at the end of your trip, it's a great place to wind down. Four days is good, I wouldn't do any longer. There is enough to do a the resort and the nearby area to fill your days.

There is also the car care center for rentals but you will likely find cheapest option is to take magical express to MCO and pick up the car there.

We prefer to go at the beginning of the trip, it adds to the excitement of going to WDW.

I agree with go after WDW, you will need the rest after 10 days in the parks.

We go after our BWV stay. Four days will be a good first exposure. Yes, we pick up rental car at the Dolphin and drop it off at the airport.

Compare the car rental rate for pick up and drop off at MCO. If there's a big savings, consider using Magical Express to go pick up the car at the airport and drive back to load luggage and the rest of your party or take everything along on the ME bus and head to VB from there. I've never had to do this. The one time I had it booked that way, I stopped at the car rental desk at the Dolphin about two days before our scheduled departure from BWV. The National/Alamo agent on duty was able to get me the same rate for the Dolphin to airport rental as I would have been paying for the airport to airport rental.
