WDW "Vacation A Day" Contest!

Well I am going to win next week they are going to call me :) I entered myself hubby granny mom and dad lol somebody better take me with them....and I told my best friend to enter she better take me if she win...I just want to go its been so long since we been there November 2013

Am I missing something? I see a lot of people saying they'd choose a deluxe resort, but on the rules page is says "[a] hotel accommodations (one (1) standard room/quad occupancy, including room tax) for four (4) consecutive nights at a Walt Disney World® Resort hotel selected by Disney in its sole discretion"... And based on the estimated retail value they give, I'd say it's almost certainly a value resort that would be "selected by Disney".

Please note that I don't want to be a buzzkill on your dream scenarios - I just honestly want to know if you guys know something I don't know based on previous contests, or if I missed something in the rules or on the contest pages or somewhere else.

I won a Disney trip in 2011- before these 1 trip a day contests started. My experience was similar to what other previous winners have had. Disney sent a worksheet. It listed all the Deluxe resorts and i had to number my top 3 choices. We got our 1st choice- the Poly. They put us in a theme park view and it was heavenly!
From what i have read, WDW winners have all stayed in Deluxe but not all Disneyland winners.

Disneynan great to see you on here!! I haven't heard from any of the other last year winners yet! We did sort of meet up with another diser on our stay! We ended up with 2 extra cases of water and paid it forward to them.

Thanks kirby - nice to see you here too! Glad you were able to meet up with another Diser.....we have attended a few local GKTW events, but have never met another Diser in the parks. Even though I always make sure to have a lime green mickey head on my daybag LOL.

Hoping for some major pixie dust as we haven't been able to afford any WDW trips lately. The kids are having withdrawels.:worship:

I love dreaming about potentially winning one of the vacations, lol. I'm sure it won't happen but it is fun for me.

We have been to DW 3 times in the last 6 years but haven't been to DL as a family (only with our parents when we were kids). However, we are moving to Texas next year and will be closer to DL and could easily drive. So, we would choose DW. I'd add extra days to the trip and enjoy the monorail resorts.

Good luck fellow Dis'ers.

Amen to that! Florida sounds DREAMY right now! Monday our high is supposed to be -13, that's the HIGH, and that does not include wind chill. I am guessing school will be cancelled.........

Well I am late to the party but I will enter today and every day afterwards. do you know if I can enter one for myself and then another for my husband? we have 2 different email address but obviously the same physical address...

I have been entering twice a day, once with my name/email/info and once with my wife's (separate email). We both have the same physical address and it's causing no problems thus far. I read the rules and it says "per person/email" and nothing about physical address. Address per these rules is defined as "person/email address"

I'm sure you meant to say, "My wife and I have been entering once per day using our separate email addresses, as it stipulates in the rules." ;)

Been entering since day one. Looking forward to the increased blood pressure every time the Fed Ex guy drives down the street! It was a weird sensation getting more excited for the Fed Ex than the dog who barks non-stop whenever he hears the UPS van. :rotfl:

And, we'd more than likely opt for DL. We've been twice ('08 & '11), but haven't been since they opened Carsland. Plus, after our horrible experience with the MBs & FP+s, I would rather have a nice relaxing trip with the good 'ole & reliable FP-s one last time. :thumbsup2

Sub...like hearing everyone's plans! I would go to WDW...would love to stay in Deluxe but would never be an Le to afford the extra $1500-3000 to do so! Wilderness Lodge is my favorite..that and Poly!

I agree about the whole FP situation - can't figure out why Disney felt the need to "fix" something that wasn't broken!:confused3

I do like to micromanage our vacations to some extent, but am not interested in planning out our rides before we even leave home.

Exactly. As it has been said by many people here, Disney would have been better served by investing the money into revitalizing Epcot or adding more to DHS. New, fresh attractions in all four parks would have resulted in more return visits from guests than a new tracking/data-mining system.

Completely agree. We never were big planners. Sure we generally had an idea of at least one park we would visit per day for our ADRs, but, other than that, we were free spirits upon arrival. We hopped and rode whichever ride struck our fancy in the moment. Unfortunately we were more stressed out this past trip about figuring out how to plot out every moment of every day to make FP+s work that when things didn't work (re: lost FP+s, MBs wouldn't scan at rides, couldn't open our rooms) much of the magic of a trip to WDW was gone for us. Needless to say, if we win, a nice care-free trip to DL will be heavenly - especially when it's on the company's dime! :woohoo:

Anyone know if there is some kind of petition or SOMETHING to express our displeasure of FP+? I know it probably wouldn't make a difference, but I feel very strongly as I've seen some of you do. We should not have to plan to be at RNR 6 months from now between 1 and 2 o'clock on Tuesday! That is not a vacation! I know I could just not do ot, but then I have an even longer wait time behind those who did. Why is Disney so adamant about all this stuff? As pp said, use the money to add to the parks..because many people are being pushed away by the overplanning. ..I know I am considering doing Universal and some other places as well, and can't afford Disney then.
