Guys - your views would be appreciated.

Our 5th trip next year but this time we're going with my brother's family (him, wife, 2 sons 9 and 12). My girls are used to spending the whole day in the parks (10 hours +) so was going to get a 5-day ticket WDW (with visits) to give us an 'extra' day at one of the parks but I'm a bit concerned my nephews might flag on their first trip in the heat/humidity of next July....even more so having just returned from a half-day at the Pleasure Beach in Blackpool with them......and that was at 60 degrees !

So, I thought lets upgrade to a 7-day ticket (no hopping) for only $5 or so more each and if we use half-days then that might help my nephews cope.

However (bear with me !!), the 14-day ultimate is only £20 pp more and would give limitless flexibility. We've a villa in Windsor Hills so could even do 2 or 3 hours at MK, Epcot or MGM of an evening.

Whaddya think ? I'm tempted.......We will be doing Busch and Seaworld in the same 14 day period and saving US for 3 days at the end (trips for 17 days).

Hi Garry

You say your nephews are 9 and 12 ? I think they would manage round the Parks no problem. The first time we went our 2 boys were 4 and 9 and we managed fine. (Didn't even take a buggy for the 4 year old - he walked everywhere).

If I were you I would go for the 14 day ultimate ticket - we've got that this year, and it gives you so much more flexibility. And like you say, if you are in a Villa you could visit any of the Parks in an evening and rest at your Villa during the day if you like. You have 17 days, so fitting everything in shouldn't be a problem.

If you haven't yet booked do you have to go in July ? Maybe going earlier like May, or later in October, might be not quite so hot (and the queues are nowhere near as bad either).

Some of you guys are hard core!! 9hrs at a park:scared1: On our first visit we spent 7 hrs at MK one day and I was shattered. 10 visits later and we usually do 5 hrs max!! LOL

The 14 day tickets are the way to go without being tied to having to go to the park. We like to go in the evening maybe to just catch the fireworks etc. if we had hopper tickets we wouldn't do this as it's wasting a day. I personally think it's worth the 20 quid.

It's a long time since we went (2004) and back then we had 30 day fun in the sun tickets, but in principle it amounted to the same thing, we could pop in for a couple of hours, go off site to eat \ rest at the villa \ shop and then go somewhere else in the evening. For £20 each extra I would say it is DEFINITELY worth it.

I would definitely say go 14 days ultimate, no worrying.

I think it will also take the pressure off all the adults. if the kids are flagging take them home to the pool and go out for a few hours in the evening etc.
One other point to take in to consideration is as it is their first visit they will probably want to repeat a few things at the end of the holidays, in particular favourite rides. This way they can flit from park to park so everyone is happy. As you have been before you wont have to go with them and just meet up later in the day or even back at the villa.

Thanks for your thoughts

Looks like I'll go for the ultimate pass. We had this in 2001 when we stayed at ASMo and it was brilliant.

Sue - has to be July I'm afraid. We have gone in October in the past but the girls are doing their highers and standard grades this year so no skipping school !!

We've gone for the Ultimate ticket in the past but after some research this year realised it was a waste for us. We've got 2 weeks in Orlando followed by a week in Miami. We'll spend one day at SeaWorld, Busch Gardens, Universal and Islands of Adventure, not into water parks at all so the 14 day Ultimate wasn't a good option for us. We're also not going to Pleasure Island so this was another thing included in the ticket we woludn't have used

We went for the 10 day hopper MYW which means we can still go to any park for any length of time on the days we're not at the other 4.

I saved us well over £60 this year by looking at the days we would actually use tickets for. Well worth doing the homework :thumbsup2

It sounds like the 14 day Ultimate would give you the most flexibility and for the extra £20 I reckon it is well worth it.

You haven't said what tickets you plan for Universal, Seaworld or Busch gardens.
As you have found for Disney you can get a lot more flexibility for not a lot more, the same for universal can be found.

I wouldn't leave anything ticket wise for the last three days, too many thing can to go wrong, weather, stamina, illness etc.

Personally I'd try to overlap the Disney and universal/BG/SW tickets if you can.

It's a personal thing but it's easy to try and over do things in one trip.
