Is the single-rider line at Disney World's "Toy Story Mania" accessible to wheelchairs/ECVs? I just want to be certain.

No it is not. This is because there are stairs involved to go over part of the track to the load area. Only the reguar and fastpass lines can bypass the stairs.

That really does seem unfair...but I also see some of the reasoning.

I've never used the single rider lines when traveling alone because I've felt that I wouldn't be able to fulfill the reason they have the single rider line. I can't just pop into any seat to help fill up the ride, instead I need to wait for that accessible car(or on EE the back car that has the special opening). On the other hand why should I have to go into the standby/fastpass line just because I'm a solo guy who uses a wheelchair?

Hi Bill,
We ( not really meaning you) go to the standby/fastpass because we have a much lower tolerance, do less attractions and ride less often, cherish the views ;)
I think I do about 1/3 of what my family can do. I just let them go at times and meet up later. If I use a fast pass line, that will be my only ride, if the regular ride lines are not long and accessable I can do them. But the two rides I like, the fast track and Space mountain are it for the fast times and rides for me. The rest are the kids stuff. I go once on each and I am happy until next visit.

PS I dislike universal Islands of adventure. They crunched me into a thousand of people going up in a line around and around body to body to Cat N the Hat, THe opetion the older woman gave me was to wait at the exit until my 9 year old dd reach the enterance ALONE and we could board.
Then they did not allow me to use the elevator at the train through the louchenett in suess land. I had been asked if I was mobile to transfer I said yes and ended up standing for over an hour in 100* heat. I ended up bright red unable to do anything but drag my leg to the ride. Then I could not get out. They took me down the elevator. I asked why I could not have accesed up that way and they said it is reserved for those unable to ambulate. Well the third attraction and I ended up with heat exhaustion sitting in the med unit. There went my day.
I over heat so easily, internal thermastate is wacky. Plus I am from the cold north and it was not suppose to be 100* that week
The 9 yr old, threw up from the heat....wasted day. I should have gone somewhere else had I known. I never had trouble accomadating in waiting areas at Universal:confused3
Maybe see you WDW some time

That stinks. I know about the stairs, but wasn't sure if the Single-Rider Line had access to the accessible break-off area or not. Guess not!

Bill, that makes sense if you need the accessible vehicle, 'course not everybody who needs to use the accessible line for TSM needs that vehicle. Most ppl in ECVs can transfer to rides (as can some ppl in wheelchairs) and there are ppl who can walk the parks, with or without assistance (i.e. cane, service dog) just can't (or shouldn't, such as post-surgical and arthritic folks) do stairs who need to use the accessible line. So, these ppl who can transfer can't use the Single-Rider Line all because they can't do stairs for one reason or another - stinky!

Also service dogs are not allowed on this attraction so for me, if I ever DID want to ride it, I'd not be able to go solo with my SD since someone would have to watch her while I rode.---Kathy

You'd already be riding separately, but you wouldn't be able to use the Single-Rider Line 'cause it isn't accessible.

You bring up a good point about language. Can you walk? yes means to them that you can walk across Texas not walk a half block then collapse or a few feet then drop. I can do two flights of stairs up and one going down but I would be exhausted, crying, meltdowns, system failure, and severe pain. Can do stairs to a CM means being able to run up the stairs.

I learned long ago that you must be very clear in what you say and know that people have their own idea of what a word, phrase or term means. Big hugs and hope to see you someday in WDW.

Ok, when TSM was first opened up. I got in the single rider line with my ecv w/ my DH, as we didn't want to wait a ton of hours to ride the rides. Of course, when we got up to the point, where they send single riders one way, and ecv's to access point, we split up.

Of course, I waited a good 15-25 minutes longer than my DH, but they let me in line.
Later in the day, single rider line wasn't open, so we couldn't use it again.
Don't know if it was because they saw the ecv or not, and said they had to many fast passers in the q?

We were at DHS Studios last week. They weren't even offering the single rider line as an option. We asked and they told us no, they weren't running that line. We had to get in the stand-by line for 90 minutes.

Can you transfer? is also one of those questions.

I can't remember what attraction it was, but we were waiting at the accessible boarding spot for the wheelchair accessible vehicle so DD could board. DH and I were kind of zoned out, not paying attention when the CM said something and then ushered us forward to start loading in a regular car. I stopped her and said we needed to wait for the accessible car.
The CM pointed at DD and said "Sorry, she nodded yes when I asked if she could transfer."
I explained she could not transfer. At that point, my DD, who can't talk, tugged on my arm and indignantly signed "Dad help" (i.e., "I can if Dad helps me.")
I explained that when CMs asked, they were really asking "Can you transfer by yourself?" and she should answer "NO". She didn't like that answer, but the next time she was asked, she answered "no", which let DH or I explain how we needed to board.

It appears that they have removed the single rider line for TSMM entirely. The signage is gone and they haven't been using it for about 2 weeks now.

That line always gets me also. To be honest...Yes, I can transfer to just about any ride. I'll take forever to do it and I would wear myself out but I could transfer if I really wanted to. What most CMs mean when they ask if you can transfer is: Can you walk onto this ride?

Interesting! I guess it was just making the other lines longer - or that there weren't enough odd-numbered parties or something.
