WDW trip with MIL - She needs an EVC

How about presenting her with a fait accompli; make the reservation and have the ECV at the Resort waiting for her. It will already be paid for. As she has now used, and said she will use an ECV at the park it is a money saver and will allow her to run around the Resort, especially if the room is a long distance from the lobby or where you park the car.

I suggested that to DH, but he was not interested. I might make a run at my SIL's.

I just called to check on DMIL post zoo trip and she has not been feeling well since Sunday. At first she thought it was just fatigue/muscle pain, but now the pain is more localized on her left side. She is headed to the dr today to see what is happening. :worried:

Hey All!

We got back today and wanted to give a post trip report regarding my MIL. She did not rent an ECV at the parks nor from an outside vendor. She did purchase wheelchair rental from WDW for the week. She was able to park in handicap parking, use the courtesy wheelchair to get to the rental desk and then DH & DBIL traded off pushing her all over the world. Our only snafu was trying to exit Epcot via the international gateway to go to Beaches and Cream for the kitchen sink. They did not have a courtesy wheel chair and they would not allow her to take the park rental out. She ended up passing on the ice cream and heading back to the room for a rest.

My DD13 had ankle surgery in March and her dr gave her the all clear to go to WDW and walk as long as it did not hurt while wearing her ankle brace and athletic shoes. She made it about halfway through day 3 and then we rented her a wheelchair as well. We were quite a group when trying to walk through the parks together!

MIL was able to ride several rides and do several attractions. She loved the Hoop Dee Doo Review and I thought she would like the 50’s PrimeTime Cafe at DHS, but I don’t think she did.

The heat was debilitating and I do not know how people stand it in July and August. I could not even breathe the air was so hot and humid. Sweat literally dripped off of us! I will not go in the summer again.

Thanks for all of the advice and tips! It definitely made the trip a bit easier.

Thanks for the report ion your trip and glad to hear it mostly went well.:)
