Thought I would give a brief summary of our trip which was good in parts but dissapointing in others.Had to wait to check in at manchester before we could get a wheelchair for DW though once obtained problem free through security. Departed manchester on Virgin flight had booked V room and really enjoyed the peace staff were very nice and got trip of to a great start. Flight good, first time in PE food OK and we liked the new A330-300 plane (though one CC seemed not to like it as no separate rest space for them), IFE much improved on 747's too much to watch. Landed MCO on time disembarked last as DW needed wheelchair, waiting at door was attendant with wheelchair though left once over airbridge leaving me DW in wheelchair DS age 14, 3 suitcases, 3 flight bags to negotiate CBP. Not as much problem at CBP quicly through and out. At transfer side waited for 10 mins before coach turned up boarded and spent 90 mins waiting for others to clear.Transfer Ok arrived at Port Orleans Riverside about 17.30.
Heres were it gets interesting, unloaded from coach and collected DW's ECV from bell services, went to check in met by friendly CM (Dawn) said that they had no adapted rooms available (special assitance services at VH had tod Disney) and we had been allocated room at FQ. Now nothing against FQ but we have always stayed at Riverside and love the place thats why we booked it. After 60 mins negotiation ended up in room non adapted with twin queen beds to accomodate 2 adults and a 15 year old plus ECV plus 3 cases had to move chair and foot stool to accomodate ECV after 14 hours on the go lost the wiil to live.
Following morning DW and myself went to see a manager, after negotiation moved from Acadian house to Alligator Bayou 24(just a short distance !)
as adapted room had been vacated. So back to room to re pack , requested bell services to help with luggage a more surly CM would be hard to find she dropped one bag (plasic carrier) on floor without a by your leave hurtled to building 24 then spent 10 mins talking to person re stocking a vending machine with half disguised mutterings to them. Outside room was a 'stroller' on entry we checked drawers what we found was disguting
1/2 eaten food, tubes of pringles cereals plastic knives, door on cabinet was off one hinge had to call the manager again as now about to really go for it as now 13.30 on day 2 and we had had enough.
More to follow if folks are interested.
