We arrived at the Orlando airport Tuesday, November 1 around noon. We headed over to the other side by shuttle and went downstairs to the Magical Express desk where we checked in for our ride to the resort. This went rather quickly as we came at an odd time of the day and on a weekday yet besides. We arrived at the Caribbean Beach Resort and I went inside to check while hubby got our carry on from under the bus. We werent real happy with our location so we asked to be moved to a different room. No problem
..we went to the food court for a bite to eat until our room was ready. We were on our way out when our luggage arrived from Magical Express.
We headed to MGM. By the time we got there it was raining so it wasnt very crowded!! Hubby was able to ride RockinRoller Coaster a few times very quickly. We knew it was going to be down the rest of the week for a scheduled refurbishment so he wanted to make sure to do it the first day. We then walked around MGM and did some indoor stuff. We did the Imagineering tour, the Great Movie Ride and the Walt Disney exhibit. We also did the Who Wants to Be A Millionaire game. We missed our dinner reservation at 50s Prime Time so we just headed back to the hotel. We grabbed something to eat at food court and took it back to our room.
Wednesday we headed to Typhoon Lagoon first thing in the morning. We were there when it opened at 10:00 and left at 11:30. In this time we rode the new Crush N Gusher water coaster 7 times, rode all of the tube rides at least once, hubby rode the body slides and we hung out in the wave pool for a while. By 11:30 there were more people arriving and we had done everything we wanted to so we left. We went back and got showers and headed back to MGM. We walked around and rode everything we missed Tuesday. We watched the new Lights, Motors Action which is there from WDW Paris. It was fantastic! We headed back to our room to get ready for dinner as we had a 7:30 reservation at the California Grill which is located at the top of the Contemporary Hotel. The food was out of this world. And the view is just gorgeous! We watched the Wishes fireworks while we ate and they pipe in the music from the park so it was like being there without the crowds!!!! After dinner we took the monorail to the Magic Kingdom where we caught a bus back to our hotel. We got to see the Electric Water Parade on the monorail which was neat.
Thursday we spent the day at Magic Kingdom. We had an 8:05 reservation at the Crystal Palace where we had the breakfast buffet with Winnie the Pooh, Tigger, Eyore and Piglet. We spent the day riding everything there!!! We walked right on Splash Mountain and had our own boat! No crowds at all. We even rode the little cars! We then had a 5:30 reservation at Tonys for dinner. After dinner we walked around a little since it was all lit up. Then we headed back to our hotel. We spent the rest of the evening at the outside bar by the lake chatting with some Red Sox fans!!!
Friday we slept in. My son came to the resort and went to Animal Kingdom with us. It was a great day! We did the Safari ride and lots of other things. It really is a neat park. We left there and went back to the hotel. He left from there to drive home to PA as he was moving home. We headed back to MGM and had dinner at 50s Prime Time Café. The food is so good there and its a fun place to eat.
Saturday we spent the day at Epcot. We rode Soarin a few times. Thats the ride from Disneyland in CA and its neat. We also rode Test Track a few times since its my very favorite ride. We walked around and did some other neat stuff. It was the Food & Wine Festival so we did get some samples from Australia. Good tenderloin!!!! We left there and headed to the Magic Kingdom. It was only Nov 5 and it was all decorated for Christmas already!!! It looked really nice but just too early for me! We went to the Country Bear Jamboree which was closed the last time we were there. It had been closed because they were setting it up for their Christmas show. We had dinner at Pecos Bills and just walked around and looked at the lights. We rode a few things and watched a little bit of the parade. We left there and headed back to the hotel to pack.
Sunday morning we got up finished packing. We headed over to the Custom House and checked out. We hopped on the Magical Express bus and headed to the airport. We checked our luggage and grabbed some breakfast. We headed down to our area and caught our plane back to Baltimore.
It was a great trip. Hopefully we will be heading back there again next year at this time of the year since the crowds were fairly low.
