WDW Tours...Pros and Cons?

So I want to do something a little different for the DH this trip and was thinking if booking one if the tours disney offers. I've heard a little about keys to the kingdom and the marceline tour. I'd be open to other tours too (as long as they didn't break the bank, trying to stay under $200 for both of us).
Do you all have any favorites and why would you choose one over the other?
Oh and this will be an anniversary surprise for him too. He likes experiences rather than things.

We loved Keys to the Kingdom but they have changed it a bit since we did it. It used to be a 7 hour tour with lunch but I believe they changed it to a 5 hour tour a few years ago. I still think it is worth the money, we oved it. We are taking our kids on the Marceline tour this trip

They still do the lunch for keys but yes I think it's only 5 hours

We have done several tours and enjoyed them all. Keys to he Kingdom was very informative and you get to see some behind the scene areas.

DH loves the Steam Train tour.

We really enjoyed the Segway Tour in Epcot. it was a lot of fun riding around Epcot.

We took a Christmas Tour, but that one is pretty expensive now. We checked out several Disney Resorts and visited all 4 parks. A bus was provided.

I think Keys to the Kingdom is a good place to start and the price wasn't too bad. Enjoy.

We did the Sunrise Safari and it was a blast. It was open to all members at one point, but may have gone back to just Concierge guests at AKV. We're looking at maybe doing the meal with an animal handler. That one looks pretty good.

We've done Keys - and loved it, Around the World Segway Tour in Epcot - no longer offered and we loved that too. Behind the Seeds tour in the Land, fun. Wild Africa Trek in AK - wonderful
I see no cons to any tours

Yes, it was amazing! My family enjoyed the Segway tour too, a shame they removed them. My adult children did the dolphin tour in Epcot and had a nice time but they agreed that SW's Discovery Cay day was far better interaction, albeit pricier.

Keys to the Kingdom was fascinating but I will never look at certain areas the same way again...somewhat disturbing to see Sheriff Woody take off his head backstage

We did the Marceline tour a couple of years back and really enjoyed it. You learn a lot about Walt and other "hidden things" in the park....

We've done Keys to the Kingdom, Sunrise Safari (it has been canceled as of now, so not offered any more), Behind the Seeds (the cheapest of all), Horseback riding at FW and Backstage Safari. But the best of all was the Wild Africa Trek.

We're thinking of doing the Sunset Safari at AK next spring.

Wild Africa Trek in AK - wonderful

does the wild africa trek involve much in the way of stairs/steps? my 70+ dad can hike fine but his knees can't handle many stairs. i'm trying to decide if this would be something fun for him...

I did that one after I had both knees replaced. But there was a bit of walking up stairs when you cross over the crocodiles. And a few areas of unlevel ground.

We have done Keys to the Kingdom, Backstage Magic, Sunset Safari, and Sunrise Safari. We loved them all. We want to try Wild Africa Trek and the Holiday one (forgot the name). All have been well worth the $.

We did the MK Steam Train tour last May. We loved it. My DH was very excited when he heard about. My 10 year old DD was up set when we book the tour. She loved it.

We've done quite a few: Keys to the Kingdom, Undiscovered Future World, another Epcot tour that's no longer offered, Garden Tour during F & G, Segway at Epcot and in Fort Wilderness, Wild Africa Trek. Lunch with an Imagineer, Lunch with an Animal Specialist, Backstage Safari (2x), and Yule Tide Decorations (or Something). We haven't done the all day 4 park one. We've also done Sunrise Safari, and Sunset Safari 2x each. I do like all the animal ones a lot.

Like above poster, I've done Lunch with Animal Specialist, and I've done it 3 times, each time I've learned a lot and enjoyed myself!

A couple of years ago the tours were taken over by a different group, I think that they are part of the imaginer staff. Some of the tours were changed, hours cut and prices increased.

We took the Christmas tour after the change and it was the worst Disney tour that we have ever taken and we have done many. The guides didn't know what was going on, several times we had to stop and wait for other groups to meet up, the tour included refreshments at DHS and the opening of Osborne Lights. We were late to DHS and missed the opening, spent about 20 minutes there and the refreshments were a cup of hot water chocolate and a cookie. Haven't been on another tour since.

I realize that things change and I hope that the guides are trained and are now providing a positive experience.
