Just as a break from the parks, the wife and I are thinking of making a one day trip down to VB just to see what it looks like.

Has anyone done this?

If so, how was the drive, sights, etc?

Any tips will be gladly taken.

Thanks

We have driven this once. It is a pretty easy drive.

As far as things to see, we stopped by Kennedy Space Center which we thought was well worth doing.

We really enjoyed VB and look forward to going there again.

WE did the drive. It is pretty easy (highway). I am sorry but that is all the info I can give you. We drove from Vero to WDW the day after hurricane Charley and we didnt see anything except downed signs and trees. The ride itself isn't bad at all. We loved Vero Beach but we were there for the hurricane and we didnt get to really enjoy it. Good luck

It takes us a little less than 2 hours, going direct. A stop-off at the Space Center is a good option for a full day (leave WDW early, get to the Space Center at opening, head to VB about 3). Other plans we have had included a half day at the parks, then after lunch heading straight ot VB.

As for sights, well other than the Space Center, I think I might recommend stopping at Hale Groves about 2 miles short of VB, and a meal that Cap'n Hiram's in Sebastian, but those are kinda VB things to do. For in interesting drive, perhaps A1A from Melbourne south to the VB resort (which is actually north of Vero in Wabasso Beach). I hear that 192 thru Kissimmee is not recommended; lots of lights, traffic, strip malls...

Enjoy!
