WDW to Universal for a day

Has anyone rented a car from Disney Car care center for the day? Thinking about visiting Universal for a day and looking at options. I didn't know if renting a car was a better idea or cheaper than hiring a shuttle like Mears. And what about taking Disney bus to DTD and transferring to a Lynx bus? Has anybody done that? Suggestions welcomed

The Lynx bus is probably the cheapest. Just make sure the routes and schedules make sense and work for you.

You certainly could rent a car at the CCC. Not a cheap option and not all that hassle free either, since you have to get a shuttle to the CCC and then back again after you return. But, consider if you'd like to have a car for more than just that trip to Universal.

I suppose you could also look into Uber. Haven't done it personally, but some are reporting success doing that.

Depends on how many people are in your party. The Mears shuttle is $19 pp, r/t. It's going to cost you $17 to park. A car service or cab will run you about $80 or so r/t. If you can get a really good deal on a car rental, fine. But you have to add the cost of parking and gas to that rental cost.

Thanks for the information. Sounds like taking the shuttle or Lynx bus would be way to go . It would just me .
