Can anyone recommend a good place to buy tickets before leaving for Florida?

I can yes, www.mapleleaftickets.com

They are based in Kissimmee so you can either visit their shop or have them posted to the UK.

They issue actual tickets not vouchers and we have always used them.

ML offer a good range of Disney Magic Your Way and Universal tickets at discounted prices, if you shop around you may find them slightly cheaper but not by much and the service is friendly and efficient.

I got mine from attractionticketsdirect, they were recommended on this forum, they price matched another company that were cheaper but readers here hadn't heard much of them so I decided to order from ATD. They were real tickets not vouchers and arrived within about 6 days of buying.

i never buy WDW tickets in advance, since i don't 100% know i'm actually going to get to orlando, until i'm there (you never know when someone will be struck down by illness, etc).......and since there's no discount on the type of ticket i buy, there's no point in investing in them before i'm actually in florida....

I like your plan! The guest service desk at your hotel will be able to assist you in planning your days at Disney and help you choose the correct ticket that you will need.

I followed JohnnySharp2 advise and bought from Mapleleaf last week. dollar rate was good and they arrived on the Monday after ordering them on the wednesday.
