WDW Ticket Price Increase

What is the difference in a Renewal price versus a full price? I ask because they expire a year from issue. We are going down in August, and I have bought tickets but I am going to convert them to an AP (because we will be down again in November and possibly the following April). Buying the tickets and converting will allow us to schedule our FP+ but still be able to "Maximize" the AP for a Year from when we actually pick them up.

If the difference is in renewal to full price is only about $100 I can see us NOT renewing because we may not be able to make it worthwhile the following year. (Coming from NE PA, I have to count on about $1000+ for travel costs whether I drive or fly)

Isn't the gold pass a florida only option? I don't see it on Disney's site. Unfortunately I can't justify $749 (times 5) unless I can guarantee that we will go more than once a year and generally we only go once every 18 months. Maybe one day it will make sense but right now it's too much, although I do think it's a great price, just out of our budget.

Yes, the Silver, Gold, Weekday and Epcot after 4pm are all Florida Resident only. We have the old Fl Res seasonal pass which we will renew into the Silver. The only difference between the Gold and Silver is that the Gold includes the photo pass download.

No the gold one is also DVC. I copied that chart from the DVC site. If you are a DVC you can buy a gold pass for $549. Call member services.

DVC has a gold pass. That chart I copied from the DVC website. I bought it as a renewal for $466. I live in Massachusetts

Guess what? Sometime between yesterday morning and this evening, the price of the package I had saved in my shopping cart on the wdw site increased by about $150. That was for a cabin package, 8 nights, 6 day hopper for 2 adults, 1 kid adult, 1 regularge kid. I'm still holding out booking until fall discounts are released.
