WDW the day before Cruise

Hi, I was wondering if anybody had any information on this.

Last time we flew in the day before our 4 day Cruise and stayed at the Airport hotel.

This time we were thinking of trying to sneak an evening at WDW instead. So some questions.

1. If you are only staying one night and not doing the complete land and sea package - can they still check you in at the resort for the ship if you are using the Cruise line Transfers?

2. Same question if you use a car service instead-would they check you in for the Cruise at the resort?

3. If they do offer this type of check in- would it have to be one of the resorts that is part of the land and sea package?

4. If we don't use the Cruise line transfers - when you show up at the port - do they take your bags and bring them to the room, like they do when you use the transfers? Or do you keep all your bags with you until your room is ready?

I know this is a lot of questions, but thanks in advance for any information you have.

Jim, we did land and sea and stayed at CBR. There is a DCL desk there but it was only manned 2 mornings and we had to go there when they were open to do the paperwork. I get the feeling that if we hadn't of gone we just would have spent more time at the terminal checking in. Your TA or Disney could probably check these questions for you if no one else knows. We rented a car (SO MUCH cheaper than the transfers) and dh just dropped me and bags off at terminal, he parked car and our bags were taken from us to the rooms. We already had them tagged as the tags were in the land and sea package we got with our tickets. HTH!

1) Nope so the answer to #2 is Nope too and since we're on a roll #3 is no too, number four Yes, it's NO once again. Dang, I sounding like David Spade ... "what's in your wallet?"

Number 4 however has a more complete answer. Once you arrive at the port (by whatever means) since you're not on a land/sea package, you will collect your checked luggage with the dcl tags on them and hand them off to the porters (and if you are using a towncar service, you're giving a tip to the driver to unload your bags and another tip to the porter that is receiving your bags). You take your carryon luggage with you and go through security and then enter the terminal building. And then you get checked in, stand in line and start relaxing. Later in the day after you board the ship your luggage shows up in your room some how.
