Slept in a little this morning...went to the Coffee Grounds and had biscotti and Mocha Java--yum!!!
Caught the bus to AK and arrived around 11 am. Line was not at all bad getting in. Went staight to Dinosaur and rode, with a standby line of less than 10 minutes. Afterwards we walked through Hester and Chester's Dinorama. I thought it was really cute..very kitchy, but fit right in with the mood they were striving for. The kids all appeared to be having a great time on the Triceratops Spin. Construction of Primeval Whirl was coming right along...in fact, they were working on it while we were there, and they have about 1/2 of the track in place. I think it will be a great family ride!
We went and picked up FP's for Kilomanjaro Safari and had time to see the Festival of the Lion King while we were waiting. What a fantastic show!!! It is definitely the best in all of WDW!!! We had a great time
Kilomanjaro Safari was wonderful, as usual. We were able to get many pictures, and one of both the Lion and lioness together. What a treat!!!
We stopped for a drink at Dawa, and I had a Keoke Coffee, and DH had a concoction that Bryon, the bartender created called Killer Koolaid... it was really good, but I can imagine that it would sneak up on you! I would have had one too, but another Castmember, who was not working came to the bar, and Bryon's attention was devoted to his party, so we left. Oh well, his loss, we tip very well!!!
We thoroughly enjoyed the Jammin Jungle Parade...it was a hoot, and so much fun!!! I am glad that we decided to stay and see it. We then went to Rainforest Cafe, before which, I had an encounter with the talking trashcan. That was great...it was giving me a hard time, and I was giving it right back to it. My DH said that the two castmember's with it were cracking up!
For dinner, we were supposed to meet some friends of ours from home for dinner at Cape May Cafe. They never showed, but we enjoyed our meal anyway. The mussels and clams were tender and plentiful, and the seafood pasta was fantastic. The dessert bar, as usual was terrific!
We were able to catch the last bus back to the MK from the Beach Club. We were the only ones on the bus, and were able to talk with the bus driver, whose name is Paul. He went above and beyond the call of duty, and instead of taking us back to the MK where we would have to transfer to a monorail right at closing, he took us straight to the Contemporary.
Again, our plans for a nightcap at Tambu Lounge were thwarted because I was exhausted... I think my DH was a little irritated... oh well... I got to watch the Electrical Water Pageant from bed again!
I will have to say, that as many times as we have been to WDW, we have never encountered so many castmembers willing to go the extra mile for their guests!!! It really made for a magical experience!
