This might be a stupid question, but is the tap water in WDW safe for babies to drink? I was planning on making the babies bottles from bottled water, but what a pain. We are on the dining plan so we decieded we really have no need for the grocery delivery service unless we use bottled water for the baby. I make her formula with tap water at home, but some towns around here the water is not great for babies. I remember the water in WDW not tasting that great, but do you think she would notice once it's mixed with her formula? I don't know if I'm putting too much thought into this or what, lol!

Is it "safe"? Yes, but I think the taste difference might be noticable. I don't think you need grocery delivery just for bottled water though. They sell bottled water everywhere at WDW and most hotels have small stores where you could pick up bigger bottles of it. It would be a bit more expensive however if you order it delivered then you're going to paying delivery charges so the price difference might be a wash.

Are you doing ME? Then just pack it in your luggage. I break up a 24 pack so I have like 6 bottles in each suitcase. Its really heavy getting it from the car to the airport, but ME will take it from airport to hotel, and the water will be drank when you leave.

You could also use your snack credits to get bottled water when you run out.

Safe? Almost certainly, but the real question is how your baby takes changes in his/her water. When I was a kid we travled alot and water never bothered me anywhere, but my poor nephew would get sick from the differences in the water, so my sister had to lug water with her on every trip they took. If your baby is sensitive to water differences she/he may get sick from perfectly "safe" water, so I'd ere on the side of caution and bring bottled water. (btw make sure the baby can take bottled water before you leave... it makes some people ill too)

Good advise, dementia412. That is exactly how I was going to reply.

I agree, the water would be safe, but would you want to risk the reaction to "different" water? What if the baby didn't like the differences and wouldn't drink her formula? There is a high level of chlorine in FL water, aside from the taste, what if that didn't work well with her system?

I like PPs suggestion with the smaller bottles and dividing it up between suitcases. Good luck with what ever you decide.

My entire family gets lower GI issues from drinking the water at WDW. We always buy/bring bottled water.

what if you got one of those little mini filters or one of those pitchers...i think brita makes them or this sounds silly but i remember seeing a few years back on one of the tv shopping channels Richard Simmons was selling one the size of a regular 20 oz bottle of water that had a filter built right in. That would certainly be more convenient and lighter than carrying all that water around with you.

the water filter bottles are very handy. brita discontinued them, but purewater2go has them. I have a few, they are very handy.

My family is very sensitive to the central Florida water (Grnadma's house is close-by WDW). We have all had some nasty issues from the water. When I took my then 7 month old I bought bottled water to mix with formula. We also only drink bottled water when in that area. I think it just depends on what you're used to.

Have a great trip!

Thanks for all your thoughts! I've just been a little worried about this. Karley will be 13 months when we go, I'm trying to switch her to regular milk now, but she's not liking it too well. Both my older dd's were on formula for a few months past there 1st birthday too. If I can get her on milk, it won't be a huge issue. I just don't see that happening before we go.

I'm thinking about ordering water from Staples. I just wonder how well that works, or if anyone has trouble getting it once they get to the resort. I just hate to have a grocery service deliver just water. We are shipping a box down before we go with baby supplies, but I think all that water would be way to heavy. My other option is shipping down the ready to feed single serving cans, but those can get expensive. It would pobably cost $60 + for 11 days worth of ready to feed cans. It might be worth it.

If she is 13 mos old I wouldn't go to the expense and bother of hauling and mixing formula, why? I assume she is eating table or baby food and by 13 mos her intake of milk will be down so much. IMO I would work real hard at switching her to milk than deal with the formula. If you begin diluting it it shouldn't take more than a week to accomplish it then it is one less thing to haul and worry about since you can get milk anywhere and just fill her bottle and go. Or just do the formula at night only needing to buy 1 bottle a day at the hotel. Make your trip as easy as possible so you can enjoy all the other stuff.
