Well we can't post on the other thread because we are too negative to try and break their magical thinking that they are safe and CM 's are safe. I am watching a train wreck. Painful and eventually deadly.

At some point people also have to taken personal action. Disney cant be responsible for 100% of peoples behaviors. Everyone bunched up liked that are absolute fools. I would have been standing back by the Pooh gift shop waiting for social distancing to occur.

We have a friend that was in the middle of chemo, and radiation for cancer...when this started, all of sudden it was considered non-essential for her treatments...She was in between rounds when this started, so she has not been able to have any treatment since, I think the middle to end of February... she went back to her doctor last week... and unfortunately it has spread... so she has decided to enjoy what time she has left...now they are saying we need to get you back in treatments, and its of the utmost importance, she told the doctor, for the last 4 months my life and treatments were not important and considered non-essential, I was considered non-essential.... she said the doctor just sat there with a blank look on his face...and said nothing... she said that she just got up and left... he did call her and ask her to reconsider... she has another appointment next week... she said that most likely she is just going to enjoy what time she has left... now she is like my hair is growing out, and I'm not sick every second...i have some energy, it might just be better to go this way...
The thing is and that she is so angry about, when she was first diagnosis... that the doctors pushed that she needed to start right away, and complete all the treatments, it was of the utmost importance... so then the virus comes along and the life saving treatment she needs is consider non-essential and in her thinking... her life is consider non-essential...

How can this happen.... How can they withhold life saving treatments... Every life is important...

Hard to know why some places made those decisions. In my area, chemo was not stopped at all. My boss' father has advanced lung cancer, all diagnosed right before COVID and his treatment never stopped (that was in Illinois somewhere). So not every area shut down cancer treatments.

My wife is a nurse practitioner working with cancers of the blood. Her hospital NEVER stopped any treatments. Sorry to hear your friends hospital took that path

Well, I don't know. The thread is about the idea that Disney should not open. They're opening. Now we get to watch and see the fallout from that decision. I think it's relavent to most of the posters on the thread.

Treatment continues here as well.
I wonder if there was some miscommunication about a short delay, rather than a complete stop.

Hard to know why some places made those decisions. In my area, chemo was not stopped at all. My boss' father has advanced lung cancer, all diagnosed right before COVID and his treatment never stopped (that was in Illinois somewhere). So not every area shut down cancer treatments.

Same in my area. My BIL finished treatments in April. I’m sorry your friend was unable to get her treatments. I would be so upset.
