wdw restaurants and milk (bottle related q)

We are still working on getting her transitioned to soy milk...turns out that she didn't tolerate whole milk very well at all! She's doing better with taking solids room temperature again, so I'm hoping by October she'll take better to cold soy milk..I'm going to wait until she's fully transitioned to soy before I try to transition the temperature, though.

I finally started cutting back on pumping sessions/day now that she seems to be taking the soy well..we're taking it slow on the transition (adding one oz of soy/week) because of her violent reaction to larger quantities of the whole milk. She's up to 4 oz of soy in every bottle, so the end is in sight!!

It looks like there are shelf stable boxes of soy and that at least one grocery store around us carries, so I'll be picking some of them up to rest run before our trip in October. I also e-mailed WDW asking about the availability of soy there, and they e-mailed me a PDF link of all of the dairy alternatives available at each restaurant (CS/TS/cart/hotels) so we know where we'll be able to get some for DD in the parks too!

Thank you for the tupperware idea...that's a really good idea! I will look around and see if I can find something like that that will work. It would be good to have for going out now, even if we've transitioned to cold by october. We'll be there right at the beginning of the month, so we're already less than 60 days out!

DD was similar in that she liked her milk warm. We got a big thermos cup and filled it with almost boiling water before we left. Made sure it was sealed well. And plopped the bottle in it for 3-4 minutes and it warmed up well. I don't think the hot water they give at the drink stations and restaurants are as warm as needed to warm a whole bottle. We used the baby care stations a lot though for getting hotter water in microwave, etc. We went back to the room for at least 1 nap so we used the villa a lot for feeding too. She will do great! And maybe by October she will be ok with cold milk. Between age 1 and 2 they progress so quickly!

That's wonderful! I started cutting back a little since DS will start whole milk this Thursday. I didn't want to cut back too soon because we don't know how he'll take to it. But congratulations on the soy milk! That's great news that it's going well!

That's a really great tip! I think I'll have to get a copy of that.

We'll be there the same time!

My 24 month old DS also has some eating challenges and refusing cold foods and beverages is one of them. We use the room temperature shelf stable boxes when we can. Another thing I will do in a pinch if I only have access to cold milk is to actually add a little bit of hot or boiling water straight into the bottle. I have done it at quick service counters using the hot water dispenser. Yes, it dilutes the milk a little bit, but it works fast in taking the chill out of the milk.
