Hey all,

I have been to WDW in 2007 and now have a DCL cruise planned for June 2009. We are going to drive down Friday and spend the late afternoon/evening at the Radisson in Cape Canaveral. Why am I posting here you may ask...well, I would like to use that Friday to go to DTD to eat at the Rainforest Cafe but would then like to tour some of the resorts I didn't get to see last time, specifically AKL and the contemporary. I need a plan. We stayed at CSR when we went in '07. So, what is the best way to fit in as many resorts as we can. I would leave vehicle at DTD and rely on boat/monrail/bus to get me around to the different resort. Thanks for all your help.

If you want to see a number of resorts, I would strongly suggest going by car and not using Disney transportation. There aren't any busses from one resort to the other, so it will most likely take you 45 min to get from one resort to the next by Disney transportation.

It sounds like you will have about half a day for it, so I would mainly concentrate on the deluxe resorts. Starting at DTD you could do it like this:

1) walk to SSR from DTD and explore there.
2) move over to POFQ and POR. Park at one of those and wlak over to the other. You can either walk back or take the boat.
3) then the MK area resorts: WL, CR, Poly and GF. Here again you can walk from the Poly to the GF and take the boat back to the Poly.
4) Next stop: Epcot resorts: BC/YC, BWI, Swan and Dolphin. These are easy, as they are all within walking distance from each other, so just park at one and walk around the lake.
5) Finally: end up at AKL, if you have the time, it is a great place to have dinner at, I like both Boma and Jiko.

Probably you would not manage all of this in a few hours, but you can always leave those out that you already know. Have fun exploring!

Unless something has changed that I am unaware of, you will not be able to use Disney transportation (monorail, bus, etc.) unless you have park tickets.
