WDW Resort Rates for 1/1 - 1/10??

Due to the scheduled arrival of our second grandchild in mid March, totally messing up our planned 10 day Disney Extravaganza (kids today have no consideration for their elders), I'm looking at going from Jan. 1 through the 10th or so. Could I prevail on my fellow DISers to clue me in on what you paid for any WDW resort in this week in '04 or '03 ? I'm considering all levels of resorts, we've been happy in AllStars, PO Riverside, Swan and Dolphin so I'd like to get actual rates for all resorts. Thanks for your help.

First week in January, I've gotten $55 at All-Stars, $159 AKL Savannah view (these rates included tax) and $98 at POR (+ tax) Personnally, I wasn't thrilled staying at the All-Stars at that time-seemed like one giant college dorm! I thik all the college kids who decide to go to WDW during break stay there with all their friends ("hey, I'll bet we could fit 8 people in a room") And some very un-Disney-like language from all those college kids at the bar late at night. Hey, guess I'd better watch myself here-my son't going to be one of those college kids going during January vacation this year, only Mom's coming, kind of puts a crimp in the style.

How far in advance do you need to book to get these rates...Is it better to wait since it is value season...???I'm looking to book 2 WLVs (studio) last week in Jan 2005

I booked in June for our Jan 2-7th trip at ASMO. I was given rack rate. If a code or a special comes out, I will then call and ask them to apply it. I went last December and paid rack rate. I never knew codes existed and I wonder if I missed out on a good one.
