WDW resort pools

We are going to WDW in October and will be staying at the GF. Someone told me that resort guests can use the pools at any resort. Does anyone know if that is true? We've never been to the GF, but I recall that the pool at the Poly is very nice.

Technically, you only have access to the pools at your resort.

Oh dear, be prepared you are going to get a LOT of responses and not all of them will be nice.

You cannot pool hop as a GF guest. The exceptions are:

DVC members staying on points may pool hop to all pools except YC/BC and AKL if it is not a busy time of the year. (For example on my July 4th visit, pool hopping was prohibited).

If you are staying a "sister resort" (All Stars for example) you can go to any of the other pools in that cluster. So if you stay at All Star Sports, you can use the music and movies pools also.

Thank you for the replies. We had no intention of "pool hopping" until a co-worker said it was accepted practice. It sounded odd that they would allow this so I'm glad I checked! Thanks!

When I was staying the the FW Cabins this summer, they stamped "NO POOL HOPPING" in red ink on our documents at check-in. The pools at FW aren't very good.

But of course I would never break a rule.

Years ago, they allowed pool hopping. Perhaps your friend hasn't stayed on site in a while. It got to be to much as certain more "popular" pools became to crowded so they stopped.
