Any opinions on the quality of the coffee for the refillable mugs? Do they have half & half available for the coffee? Specifically, we will be at the Contemporary. I noticed there is another coffee shop near the lobby. The mugs appear to be a good deal if the coffee is good too.

WDW Resorts and parks serve Nescafe instant coffee. This includes coffee for the refillable mug program. In my opinion, it ain't the greatest.

Some of the better restaurants serve brewed coffee, for example Kona Cafe at the Polynesian.

The coffee is horrible, gross and disgusting. Did I mention it is horrible? No matter how much cream and sugar you put in, it doesn't get any better. This time I am packing my own coffee and using the in room coffee makers and buying bottled water to brew it with. The water could make it taste awful too.

Hop on the monorail and get your coffee at the Kona Cafe at the Poly. You can also buy the coffee from the Kona to make yourself in your room. I don't know why WDW has such a hard time serving decent coffee and pizza. I would say that is my only complaint with any of the WDW food services.

Yep, the Coffee in WDW SUCKS! I am bringing my own, as usual, to brew in the room. Dunkin Donuts Coffee YUM!;)

I'm glad I posted this question. I guess I won't waste money on the refillable mug and BYOS (bring your own Starbucks)! I think there is a SuperTarget nearby with Starbuucks and bottled water. I see the Kona cafe gets a thumbs up so I can stop there too for a good cup of coffee. Thanks for the tips!

Coffe in WDW awful?!! You folks are crazy! I would rather be having the coffee in WDW right now than any other coffee.

...maybe it's not the coffee? Maybe it's the atmosphere...hmmmm

OK, all kidding aside. I really like the coffee from the AKL and the Poly. The press-pot coffee is great. As for the rest of the coffee...I don't remember whether it was good or not. Then again, I'll take yesterday's morning coffee and reheat it, mmmm yummm! I also drink my espresso black. Maybe I'm not the best person to reply to this question now that I think about it!

Another vote for BYO! Although I know I am not adventurous when it comes to my coffee, any coffee I've ever tried to drink at WDW is awful. I have honestly tried, and cannot make myself drink it. To the point that on our trip last Thanksgiving, I basically did without, rather than make arrangements for my own. I drive so packing is not a problem, so I usually take my own full size pot (cheapy from Wal-Mart that stays in the box just for travel) and coffee, prepare with bottled water at night so when I get up I just flip the switch and have my wonderful coffee in minutes!

I just want to make sure that before I run to Walmart and buy a coffee maker that I am allowed to have one in my room at the Beach Club. Has anyone brought one to the Beach Club?

I've used coffee pots in all the resorts and I believe the Beach Club will provide one to you at no cost if you request one. Definitely bring our own coffee as their coffee packs are no better than the coffee served. Also, plan to buy a few bottles of water as the water at WDW is yuck and could be the biggest part of their problem serving decent coffee. Hopefully someone will confirm that the Beach Club will provide a pot for you and save you the expense and energy of buying one. Even the moderates will provide a pot on request.

WDW coffee - yuck!! This has to be some of the worst coffee I've ever had in my life! Still, I'd rather be drinking this sludge at WDW than drinking my favorite cup of brew NOT at WDW....

Anyway, we agree about the only good cup of Joe at WDW being at Kona Cafe...but since we won't be staying at the Contemporary next trip, we'll just have to either bring our own or else grimace through WDW's sad excuse for coffee...either way, we'll be happy, because we'll be at WDW!!

Having spent quite a bit of time in SoFlo among Colombians, Brasilians and Sicilians, the "Masters" of the caffeine delivery system known as "coffee", I feel comfortable in stating that if you are relying on that instant Nescafe to fill in for coffee, you are in for a mighty dissappointment.

As stated above, Kona Cafe is very good if you're nearby. I also hear that AKL Concierge has a good coffee machine. Also, the Boardwalk bakery serves a good espresso along with CRT at breakfast.

Other than that, bring your own mix and percolator, or you will be in for "the shakes" after a day or so... ;)

Hey RefreshedMom, don't laugh, but one of the best common blends readily available at Walmart is the "great value" Arabica in the red can, if you percolate it. The drip machines simply don't produce very good coffee. You can pick up an "ok" percolator at Walmart as well, they run about $40 there. I recommend that everyone sticks with Faberware.

This is serious stuff. You don't mess with coffee.:teeth:

I agree that it's best to bring your own coffee pot, coffee, and water.
I'm not sure the resorts provide full size pots, just those tiny 4 cup ones?? Since we drive, we just bring our own.
As BraveMom3 said, it's nice to have your coffee ready in your room instead of going out to get some.

Kona -- the French Press pot is my favorite cup of joe in the parks!!

I also bring my own to the rooms to brew in the morning. Dunkin Donuts or Green Mountain... YUM!

I am with all of you, the coffee is HORRIBLE.
Not good for us "morning people".
Bring your own!
