WDW reservations for January 2004

I was hoping someone might be able to shed some light on an issue I have come up against. We will be visiting family in FL in Jan 2004 and plan to spend 2 days at WDW. Last night I was doing a little searching on room rates for WDW resorts. The Disney website would not let you check for reservations beyond Dec 2003. THat however really is not the issue I would like to mention.

I decided to look at Expedia to see what they offered. My results were that every single WDW resort hotel would not allow check in for the date I requested. If I expanded it by one day I was able to get rates on some hotels but not all. Can anyone believe that of the thousands of rooms available they all would not be available for check in that day but adding one day allowed me to be able to check in?

Is something going on at WDW on Jan 16, 2004 or is Disney trying to get visitors to book more than 2 days? I would hate to think so. I enjoy staying on WDW properties. I would hate to have to book elsewhere.

Thanks to any of you who can figure this out!

I believe it just has to do with the way the reservation system is set up. From what I remember you can't check for anything less than a 3 night ressie online at all on the WDW site. Why not just call the CRO and see what rates are available?

I was having the same problems but as of this AM, I was able to check disneyworld.com for dates well into next year and for a one night stay.

At Expedia, I was able to check for later dates today (we're specifically looking late Jan/early Feb), but was unable to get room only. They're listing some great rates, but when you go to try to book, it turns out that they're pricing the Winter Dream Maker pkg., which includes tickets and is not for us. Also, Expedia won't take reservations at disney properties for less than 3 nights, at least the ones we looked at (I think it's all tied into the package thing). They used to, I believe, but if all they're quoting is packages, those have a 3 night min. stay

I had better success at hotels.com, however. They are not pricing out the packages and have rates listed for a little as one night stays. It's all rack rate, but it might help you to get a better feel for what you want.

Hope this helps.

Just an FYI - all of 2004 is now up on the website.

Happy hunting!!

We had the same problem. My friend & I planned a quick weekend trip for MLKing weekend. When we began planning in July, there was nothing on website. We called and were able to book PC for 1/ 16-19, for $69 @ nite, AAA.

good luck!
