I know it is only January but for budget reasons I want to start buying a few things at a a time. We are going to WDW in June and I would love to put some things my kids can use on the trip in their baskets. Problem is I am drawing a blank. Any ideas?

I almost have DD13s Easter basket done already :lmao: I love getting stuff for her basket at the after-Christmas and after-Valentines sales.

For a teenager going to Disney, I might include:
- Sunglasses
- Disney-themed Baseball cap or other hat
- Disney-themed Tshirts (Roll them up and tie with a ribbon and they fit nicely in an Easter basket)
- Water bottle (I like the filtered Bobble bottles for WDW, we fill them up at the water fountains and save a fortune on bottled water)
- Disney-themed or regular Flip flops (for the pool)
- A Disney-themed phone/iPod/tablet case (check eBay - you have plenty of time for shipping from China ;))
- A small, theme-park friendly purse
- Swimsuit
- Disney-themed jewelry or watch. Or just a waterproof watch - they are great when you are in and out of the pool, for the water parks, etc.

I tend to think girl-ish stuff since I have a girl, but at least some of those would work for a boy too!

Also beach towels if you would use them, gift cards or Disney dollars(although these can be a budget buster), in the past I have purchased a Disney themed lunch box and filled it with favorite snack treats and gum for the plane ride etc. You could add a DVD or Blue Ray, autograph books, photo albums, disposable underwater cameras if needed.

Also, check out Walgreens. I have found Disney themed nail polish and decals and gems as well as makeup and adult hair accessories (Villains themed). They have had cotton swabs in cute little Disney tins. They usually have Disney themed holiday items as well.

If you do pressed pennies you could include an mini M&M's tube with quarters and pennies. Pins/lanyards if you're a collector, autograph books and Sharpies. Red and black fingernail polish and nail tools to make designs (they have the tools really cheap on Amazon). Being practical, you could include travel sunscreen and hand sanitizer.

My 11 year old went shopping with her 18 and 22 year old cousins a while ago and came home with matching Disney themed tank tops from Hot Topic. I know the girls all thought they were great and I sent the older 2 back to buy one for me to give for Christmas (it was at the end of last summer) that she said she wanted. Then I rethought my Christmas gift giving strategy so she's getting it for her Easter basket. I see the older 2 wearing theirs quite often under cardigans so I guess they like them. Mean mom that I am I packed my daughters away with the summer clothes, wish I had thought of the cardigan solution

Were also going to Disney in June and Easter Baskets are doing to be "disney themed". MY children are younger and they are getting a few small Disney toy plus Disney Tshirts and Disney pajamas. Since you need it for an older age, maybe a pool basket? Bathing suit, sunglasses, towel, sunscreen etc???? Or if they still like to wear Disney items, then a few Disney shirts/pajamas??

Disposable ponchos. I think they have them at dollar tree or the camping section of Target.

How about a Starbucks Gift Card? My DS 16 LOVES starbucks and can really run up a bill there. Last trip to Disney he went daily to get a $6 coffee, we had DDP and he used a Snack credit so no biggie. Next trip we are paying OOP. Since this is the case he is going to be getting Starbuck Giftcard for Valentines Day. He can be responsible for his own spending that way!
#2 How about a homemade "coupon" for an ear hat of their choice when you get there?
#3You could hide the baskets and have them answer Disney trivia questions to earn the hint of the baskets location.
#4 You could get them personal spritzer fans to take. I have found them at Wal-Mart before for less than $10. They cost about $18 a piece at Disney.
#5 Cinch String back packs.
#6 A Disney Picture Frame. (I've seen really cute homemade ones on Pinterest)
#7 Claires had a lot of Disney themed jewelry after Christmas on the clearance rack. I picked some up for around $3.
#8 Dollar tree always has a lot of Disney items. From lip gloss or chapstick to coloring books, crayons, stickers and bags. Pick up some glow neklaces while you are there, those are fun for every age :-)
Have Fun! I love doing themed baskets.

Lots of great ideas. I had not thought of rolling up shirts and putting them in the basket. My DD has been pointing out lots of them from Hot Topic that she wants. I love the Starbucks idea...completely forgot it is there now. DD loves Starbucks.

DS will be the hard one but I think I will do a couple of gift cards so he can have some extra spending money for snacks and such. We make them save from their allowance for spending so he will like having some extra. I am also going to look into some new sunglasses for him.

I got DD two of these last year, she got so many compliments on them!

Walgreens should have Disney themed eggs for a little candy option. The gift card idea is great and most teens would like them. Don't forget travel options too - new headphones for electronics; snacks for the trip (I have recently seen Jelly Belly Jelly Beans in Disney packaging) and maybe one of the many Disney themed books out there (not the touring books, if your kids are readers). Some trading pins or vinyalmations (both on sale at Disney.com). All of these will be in my DD Easter basket for our May Trip :cool1:

- A MistyMate personal mister for each (2.5 ounce size; you can get them at amazon)

- EOS lip balm

- A Disney gift card so they have some spending money of their own
