For those of you that holiday at WDW where did you find the best deals?
Did you book on line, or with a tour operator?
Do you find you have to book at lot in advance?

I am dreaming now, I need some more Disney Magic and there is no way DH will go back to DLRP this year as he wants a beach holiday, but in Orlando you can do both right?

Thanks :)

Hi yes you can do both. Last year I booked virgin online but it works out a lot dearer than booking seperate however Disney UK have the free dining offer on at the moment and you could get a great deal on holidays from August to December and you can book virgin flights with them to. To get free dining you need to be booking atleast a hotel and ticket package.

I don't think there is a simple answer. Depending on time of year it can be cheaper to book DIY on-line, other times you can get really good package deals through travel agents and tour operators.

It's just a case of doing a bit of searching and comparing prices.

There are certainly beaches in WDW :) or you could do a split stay with some days spent on the Gulf Coast :)

We always go down the DIY route and book our own villa, flights, car hire and park tickets. If DH specifically wants a beach - i.e. the sand between his toes - then a villa wouldn't be the best option. But if he is thinking more about lying in the sun, away from the hustle and bustle of the parks and taking a dip when he gets too hot then a villa is ideal.
As already said the price will depend on lots of things, so once you get an idea in your head as to the time of year you want to go you can start to search the different options and go from there.

Yes you can do both. We booked with TCD last August for this August, at a cost of about £4800.(2 adults, 2 children, park tickets, free DDP at OKW) Lost the holiday when XL went bust, so rebooked ourselves accomodation, tickets and free DDP with Disney UK direct and flights direct with BA, saving us about £500 on original deal.

I would second that, we booked our flights for January at the end of March, and got a really good price. We were umming and ahhing about whether they would come down any further and since booking our dates have almost doubled in price! :scared1:

We found that a lot of villa owners are willing to barter with you on the prices at the moment too, so we got a good price on a house in the location that we like too.:thumbsup2

We would (personally) never book a package as VH and others always seem to work out a lot more than you can get it for if you book everything seperatly yourself. I don't think we have booked a package holiday to WDW since 1996!!

The other thing with food and stuff is that you can eat cheaply offsite - we found some lovely places. Also using the coupon books and registering online with restaurants before you leave can save some $$ too.
