Go back and read the blog posts you shared above. As I stated in post #15 they did in fact have a hyperlink to
DisneyWorld.com/offers "for more details."
But not to that specific offer. I thought that was the offer because it was their advertisement on their website. I didn’t think there was much more to it and there was no link to that one directly. If I go to their website now they did link it’s not listed just adding to the confusion.
You are correct that they did used to give a timeframe for booking an offer. However the availability often was nil long before that deadline. Now they simply remove the offer once it is booked up. It saves both CMs and the public a lot of wasted time searching for a room that is gone.
This deal is still popping up on Google and it’s still listed on the blog Disney. Apparently it was limited, but that should have been said, it only takes a few words to say that and not everyone knows every single unwritten policy about Disney. I just know that for the room discounts I’ve booked day before in the past.
The "free waterpark day" has in fact been unavailable to some folks this year. For various reasons -- the guest didn't arrive until evening, the weather was bad and the waterpark was closed, the parking lot was full and guests driving themselves were turned away. Have people been disappointed? Yes.
all the instances you are stating are like when the hotel rooms are all filled. This situation isn’t like that situation as the hotel rooms are still available. This situation is different.
There's no reason to think the relatively short blog post contains all details. Now you know. The blog post is intended to drive traffic to the website.
It’s their blog and customers should not have to do a deep dive of every little thing to fact check. They should be truthful in advertising and provide these clearly relevant facts. It seems to have surprised many Disney commentators as you can see on a google search
Fault? Why is it Disney's "fault" that you missed out on a promotion? No, sorry, any "fault" lies with the potential guest who didn't seek out full details and delayed booking. Take responsibility for yourself and your own (in)actions. It's OK to be disappointed the promo ended and you missed it; it's not right to double-down and blame the business.
if you read my comment, I was referring to the blog post/advertisement put forth by Disney. This whole issue could have been avoided if Disney provided the simple language that it is limited, that’s what they did when they offered the annual passes again in 2023 and in other situations. If Disney is going to advertise items they have an ethical and I would say legal duty to be truthful and provide these clearly relevant facts such as its limited. The promo was for dates covering approximately 6 months first starting about 2 months away. It’s not like this time frame was only covering a 2 month time frame. That points in the direction that this was a long lasting promo not one that will be randomly pulled. Again all they had to say was “limited availability” or even better give a specific time frame like they did for the other
free dining deal they offered end of 2024 and posted about on Disneys official blog
Weren't you just at WDW this spring? You should have taken advantage of a bounce back offer. Or there are still "up to 30%" room offers available for 2025 dates. The "free dining" for kids is still available for all 2026 bookings.
Yes, I probably should have, but the dates I wanted were not covered by it, but for the dining plan they were. The free dining for kids isn’t all that great because the price of dinning of kids is roughly a third of the price for adults/kids 10 and up.
You are right about the 2026 bookings but they didn’t realize all the 2026 dates yet. We are limited to when kids are out of school as we don’t think they should miss school for Disney since they only have school half the days of the year.
