First of all, I apologize if this is the wrong location for this topic, feel free to move it if need be!

I have a good friend of mine who will be going to WDW and is planning on proposing to his GF. As I am a WDW vet and it will be his first time (his GF LOVES WDW, but he can't ask her advie on this) he was asking for my help. He wants to propose in a very romantic and unique/special way. I brought up maybe during wishes fireworks or something like that but he felt it wasn't "planned: enough. Does anybody have any stories or ideas of a really romantic and special way to propose at WDW. Maybe at a restaurant, he is eating at Calif Grille and Cindy's Royal Table. Those are the nicest restaurants he is eating at. Any ideas and stories you guys have would be great!! Thanks! :Pinkbounc :cheer2:

As for planning it give Disney a call....I seen two ....you can set up in Cinderella’s Royal Table (restaurant in the castle) for either prince charming or Cinderella her self deliver the ring on a pillow...very cheesy but love it just the same...the other is at the living seas restaurant at epcot....They used to do it with scuba Mickey but i don’t think they have the costume any more...but they have a scuba diver dive into the tank (the restaurant has one wall all tank) with a big sign that says will you marry me ______....Then you can have either a character or the host deliver the ring in a white chocolate sea shell....
Disney has hundreds of these stories so defiantly call the pros...They love doing this stuff as well and will be so helpful

A neat idea my fiancee told me about (and I believe there are companies you can hire to do this).

A girl comes home and walks in and finds the house filled with balloons (helium). The guy is sitting on the couch and tells her to come over... he gets on his knee and takes out a ring box. She opens it up and inside is a pin. He says, "You better start popping."

He had the ring in one of the balloons. That could probably be done to their room so that they come back to it.

I guess it's more fun than romantic though.

My hubby proposed to me at DL by the wishing well. It was the best. We were there for 4 nights. And every afternoon we would walk by the wishing well and I would make a wish, have don't it since I was a kid. So the first night we went and we both made a wish, the second night we both made a wish, the third night we did it both made a wish and when I opened my eyes he was down on one knee and said "is this what you wished for". And it was so amazing and so romantic and so beyond belief. He had carried the ring in his pocket for 3 days waiting for the right time. Now I go by the wishing well and wish for a baby. I got my prince.

Oh, it's such a good episode, a 2-parter! Michelle is in the parade at MK and becomes princess for the day by Snow White, Jesse sings in front of the Castle, Jesse and Joey get trapped in the Living Seas, and Danny goes around to different areas trying to propose to his gf (Vicki)! They all stayed at the Grand Floridian too. I'm a "Full House" dork! :goodvibes I love all my fav shows because they always made trips to WDW, like in "Family Matters," "Roseanne," etc.

my DF proposed to me right infront of Cinderella's Castle while they were taking the pictures of us. he did a little sly "i've gotta ask them a question, hang on" and went up to them and told them what was going to happen. and then they took like 8 different pictures lol.

although, if he does this, make SURE he buys all of the photos then and there. we had a horrible mishap with the photopass and they lost ALL of our photos! luckily we bought one package beforehand.

The Magical Proposal
August 6, 2005...How it all began. We had just arrived at Walt Disney World for our summer vacation and had decided to have dinner at a wonderful seafood restaurant (Narcoossee's) on the water at Disney's Grand Floridian Hotel. After dinner Dan had recommended that we take a walk on the beautiful white sand beach to the Polynesian Hotel. The Polynesian Hotel is Disney's tropics themed resort which has white sand beaches, palm trees, a great view of the castle and it's nightly fireworks show. When we arrived Dan seemed very particicular about the spot we viewed the fireworks from. He said he just wanted an intimate spot so we could start the vacation off right. So we found a lovely and quiet spot under palm trees and Dan brought over two lounge chairs for us. Five minutes before the show began he went over to the water to take a look (so I thought). He came back with a bottle in hand and Mary thought 'what is that?' he said he found a message in a bottle and wanted to read it. He got down on his knee and proceeded to read the letter which began 'to my princess..'. It was so beautiful that Mary could not control her emotions and began to cry. He then said he had one simple question to ask...'would you marry me?'. Shecould not control herself and began crying hysterically....and of course said yes. Just then the fireworks over the castle lit up the sky and it could not have been more perfect. We returned to our room at the Animal Kingdom Lodge and there were roses, scattered petals in the shape of a heart, champagne and gifts awaited, as if the proposal on the beach were not perfect enough! That was the beginning of a beautiful vacation and hopefully many more to come!

My DF proposed to me in front of a gorgeous fountain at POR that was all lit up at night. We were the only ones around and it was really romantic. He had wanted to do it at a restaurant or in front of the castle, but since I am a Disney freak and go at least twice a year and am always on this site, he knew that I would know all about that, so it wouldn't be as 'special' to me. Plus, since I was the one planning the trip, I would know if there were alterations made to the itinerary. So, just make sure that if she is making all the plans and ADRs he doesn't alter anything she's done, or try too hard to get her to go out of the way to make certain reservations or she'll know something's up. Tell him congratulations and good luck! :goodvibes
