I am not sure if this is the right board to be posting this on, but I was wondering if there is anywhere on Disney property where you can have your letters and postcards marked with a special disney postmark. I think I remember reading that there was someplace at DTD that did this. Does anyone know if this is true?

I don't know about postmarks, but I do recall seeing a "themed" postal drop box in MK...unfortunately I cannot recall the exact location but I think it was near the train station. I asked DH if he thought it was a real post box, and upon closer examination we found the pickup times printed on it. So...maybe this will get a WDW postmark?

I think there was a shop at DD that would post mark your letters and cards with the WDW post mark. It was the store that sold stationary and books and such.

Anyone know if they still do this? I'm not sure if I even saw that shop on my last visit.

I was just there and I thought there was still a sign up for the WDW postmark at the ART/stationary store at the end of DTD.It was right where it's always been by the scrapbooking area table in middle of room.

When we were there in April you could go into the scrapbooking store in Downtown Disney and mail your postcard from there. Towards the back of the store they have a postal machine that will stamp your card with a picture of Tinks' face and they will then mail it off for you. That's the only official Disney postmark that I've been able to find. Be aware that if you mail your cards back home to yourself that you may very well make it back before them. Especially if you drop your cards in any of the mailboxes located throughout the parks. From what I understand they don't check them everyday. But I thought that was quite okay, coming home only to receive a momento a few days or week later. :sunny: Also, on our last 2 trips they didn't care if you bought your cards from another store and brought them in to be postmarked and mailed. It still only cost the regular mailing postal rates.

I mailed postcards from the DTD scrapbooking store a couple of weeks ago. Their meter has a great Walt Disney World stamp, it says Capture the Magic and under it has Walt Disney World with Tinkerbell. The post office stamps it Orlando.

I should add that you have the have the postcards addressed and ready to go because they will not use the meter and give them back to you...so make sure you have the addresses with you!
