WDW or Cruise the best value?

Just curious, I've only been on Royal Caribbean, what are the reasons DCL does not compare in value to RC? Just expense or other reasons?
No casino, soft drinks are included, family friendly shows would be why I have stuck with DCL. It's more expensive but the difference isn't huge if you pay with discounted gift cards.

How do you adjust a previously higher cruise price downwards? Thanks for the info.

The short answer -- you call and request it.

The longer answer -- it's a very unlikely scenario. Cruises are priced in "tiers" based on how many staterooms are booked. Prices increase as more staterooms are booked. Fares rarely decrease except for last-minute special offers. By that time, you are within the penalty period and would have to cancel and re-book to get the special offer. It may or may not be worth the penalty, including possible loss of pre-booked port excursions, dining, etc.

DCL will automatically refund adjustments due to taxes or port fees. Many passengers find a relatively small refund back a few days or weeks prior to the cruise.

Enjoy your vacation!

I will say that they hold rooms back, and prices do lower a little. I've been watching a lot lately for prices on the same cruise, They had no floor 2 inside rooms when I booked (the cheapest option) now today there are suddenly 4-5 rooms in that category. Unless people are canceling. So if I would have chosen an inside room I could've got it for $50 cheaper today, if deck didn't matter, which to me it doesn't.

Now I just need to see about my WDW nights and see what deal I can get there, thinking about trying to rent points at AKL. Never done that before
