WDW next week abd invite to preview new Poly studios

We just got an invite today to preview/tour the new poly studios while at WDW next week. We scheduled the preview on Tuesday, January 13th. Not really interested in buying but looking forward to check it out. Not to mention free cocktails and appetizers on DVC. I will see if I can take pictures and post when I return from our trip.

Whoa. How did you get an invitation? Are you an owner staying on points? I hadn't heard of anyone with a similar invitation. Maybe the rumor that points will come up for sale the second week of January is true.

Where is the tour? At Poly? SSR sales center?

Its at the SSR Preview Center. I suppose this means that DVC has built a model of a PVB studio at SSR.

Visiting Universal next week and planning on stopping by some of the resorts and DTD as well. Wonder if tours will be available before the 13th?

I don't know much more about the invite. We are owners and just had a trip lanes already. We received an email with some dates and times for the week. So I guess they have more than one of the tour/preview. That's all I know.

I got the invite also. (will be at BCV at the time.)

They are having 6 sessions of 2 hours each.
At 4pm and 6pm on Jan 13, 14, and 15.
It's at SSR, RSVP's required, and check-in is at the Performance Hall at SSR.

Don't know if it's strictly a preview, or if it's also a sales event.
Perhaps they will have info such as: opening date, reservation windows, point charts, point price. If so, I or someone else will be sure to post.

I'll be at the 4pm Jan 13 event.

guaranteed it will be a sales event. They wouldn't waste the expenditure if it wasn't. IMO.

Is it by invitation only? We're local and would love to take a look, although no 1 bedrooms makes it unlikely we'll buy unless the studios really wow us. I've sent my guide an email but if they have a number to call can you share? Thanks!

A true sales event would be paid for by DVD.

The member mingles, holiday events, and the new Wednesday events are paid for by the members.

I also got the invite and will be attending the jan 13th event. Looks like it's a preview for current members only because RSVP is required and they say that you need your member ID when checking in. This was the email that also contained the RSVP link. It doesn't look like everyone got it because we have friends that are owners traveling on their points at the same time and they never got the invite.

I attended a similar type event at GF for VGF. It included very heavy apps and drinks, lots of information on DVC, VGF and options available to use points which seemed like too basic of sales info for existing owners which is who the event was for. They then had a few "games" ala Welcome Home Wed to give away a few items followed by a tour of VGF. The food was very nice but I would have been just as happy skipping the program and just seeing the rooms.

And I knew DVC better than the person showing us around. Actually - as far as seeing rooms I do not like these events since they are trying to show to quite a few people all in a short period of time and you are rather rushed thru. It's a good general view but I've preferred the times I've just gone to see new rooms at SSR that haven't been during special events. Still, it's fun to be one of the first to see them!

We attended the one for BLT. It was fun! We gathered in the Ballroom for a presentation and we got some fun gifts -- a folder with the DVC logo and a writing pad inside, rice krispie treats with the DVC logo, stuff like that. After hearing about DVC and the new villas, we went on a BLT tour. I was beyond excited to get to snoop and this event is a favorite Disney memory for me. There were snacks and drinks and music after. Very nicely done.
