has anyone gone?.they have a swamp buggy ride for $12 per adult(less for kids) that's 2 hours long...sounded interesting to me. they said it's about 40 mins. away from WDW itself. any information would be appreciated. they are sending me a brochure and directions in the mail but wondered if anyone had been there.. Thanks

I've never heard of that..but it sounds interesting. Where did you get the info? (If you don't mind me asking)

I was there last May (or was it June?) and it's a lovely, peaceful place. Don't expect to see Mickey, or any sign of Disney whatsoever. It's truly a working nature preserve.

At that time, they had just discontinued one of their tours, but had a shorter tour running. There are also walking trails (a very serene walk down to the lakefront was quite nice).

If you are interested in a quiet hour or two, it's a pretty place, true natural Florida, with none of the bells and whistles (no restaurant, no 'entertainment' beyond peaceful scenery). A nice break from the parks.

sorry but I do not know where i first heard about it...but the "unofficial "guide mentioned it and I think has the phone number.. A woman who works there (very nice) called yesterday and told me the "buggy " tours start on this Sunday( first week in Oct.,not sure if any other days, I was asking about a specific date). at 1:30 and are 2 hours long. she said there are picnic tables and strip mall/fast food type restuarants close by. it's 40 min from WDW. you have to register for the ride when you get there. It's 12 an adult and forget how much per kid. They explain the "flora and fauna". it sounded like a nice break from the parks which I need after a couple days, love the disney magic but can only take so much "hustle and bustle" before I need a break. I can let you know more if you want when I get the info. she is mailing out.
