WDW Moderate if we do DDP - or less expensive to do the Dolphin ?

To get DDP we have to stay at a WDW resort.
We are thinking of POFQ or CSR for 2008.
We usually go at the end of June.

The 2007 prices at the WDW moderates are around $195 for water view.We do not know if you can get an AAA 10% discount on the room with DDP plan included.

The 2007 AAA price for a Dolphin resort view room (Starwood member, AAA and repeat guest) is $199.The S/D restauarants offered an AAA 20% off discount on dining at their restaurants and snack bars.

So if the Dolphin still offers a great rate in 2008 and the 20% AAA dining discount on S/D restaurants - it may pay to stay at the Dolphin and not stay at a WDW moderate resort, since the cost of DDP has risen compared to it's benefits.
The Dolphin rooms are larger than WDW moderates too.

Would you still do a WDW moderate & 2008 DDP ?
or
Would you do the Dolphin and no 2008 DDP ?

I love the Dolphin. If the price is the same, I would always chose the Swan or Dolphin over a Disney moderate.

I would go for the moderate with the dining plan. We are in our rooms very little, and enjoy eating at different places throughout WDW. Whatever your decision, you can't go bad with either one. :)

depends on what is important to you? Is location important versus paying out of pocket for Dining? I think the value of the DDP will drop considerably next year. I guess it depends on whether you would want the great location of the Swan/Dolphin or really want to just use the dining plan. Used to be the DP was worth it for us because we did not have to figure out tip and such unless we had exceptional service and in that case we just plunked some cash down. But next year in 08 I think we will be returning to our ways of just paying out of pocket. This year we are buying and extra ticket (1 day base) just to get the DDP but I don't think it would be worth that next year.

I vote for Dolphin! I think they have a character meal there, or they used to anyways.

Happy planning!

If the dining plan was free I would choose the moderate, but if it wasn't I would choose the Dolphin. A deluxe for a moderate price is an easy decision for me.
